Sac County - Remove Firearm from CCW Permit
I have a friend that wants to sell one of his pistols to me but it is listed on his permit.
Does anyone know the procedure for this? Thanks!

Recently did that, SCSD said to just keep a copy of the DROS papers (sellers copy). They elaborated that if that firearm was found by a police search it would show at the DOJ that I no longer owned it.

go ahead and do a normal firearm transaction, (as if it was not on his permit).
then, if he plans on placing another handgun on his permit, he must first make an appointment for a modification. if he does not want to place another handgun on the permit, he can do nothing, and the permit will be updated when he renews it. this is for sacramento county. also remember........he can make an appointment to do the mod to remove it......but due to the change over to the new system, new applicants and renewals are priority. all mods are at the back of the line and are NOT a priority. |

Thanks for the information guys!
Just to sum things up - 1. If he does not want to add another firearm to his CCW - He sells me the pistol. Keeps a copy of DROS and does nothing else. 2. If he wants to add another firearm - Make and appointment and do the modification.
