Default Another Turners Rant

Just stopped by Turners (Corona) to buy some of that Blazer Brass ammo that is on the ad (350 for $79.98) Good price I thought, Really Great price IF you NEVER had any and Refuse to give rain checks on ad items.. AD items you Never even had, that is a Good Price leader to get people into the store...

I was gonna question this Manger with Corporate BUT IF they have quit answering this sub forum they really don't Care to hear from Calguns people..

THANKS, I Needed that!! Rant Over.......

The sale started yesterday. I'm sure people who wanted the deal went in yesterday morning and cleaned them out.

I don't know why you think they never had it. I've seen it at other locations.

Going to be nearly 25 cpr with tax, so it wasn't that great a deal anyways.

sometime businesses use ads as "lost leaders", meaning having only 1 or two items at that price or very limited qualities on hand. however, the best way to capture that deal is show up to the store when it opens on the date the ad starts. Its the only way to guaranty to get one.

Turner's ads comes out Thursday but starts on first open on Friday, but you went on Saturday. Too late already!

if they never had even 1 available to sell on friday when store opened, then maybe there is a legal case. Maybe someone can chime in on this if a chain business advertise an item, does every store must have at least one? if not, are they required to specify in the ad which store(s) are not participating in the ad specials?

Turners is a waste of time. It's full of people who don't know much about firearms working behind the counter and customer who no nothing about firearms and expect the employees to give them a full Rundown on laws calibers barrel length ballistics targets and fantasy Home Defense situations

The problem is the people you dealt with are just lazy. Any of the stores can look up the inventory of other stores, if they see the item you are looking for at a different store then they can call to verify it's there, then have it transferred in. Might take a couple weeks to get what you want, but you get it at the sale price. Problem is it takes extra effort to look it up and make the call.

turners is the store I go to for convenience, that being said you pay extra for the convenience. I never go to turners expecting to find a deal and neither should you. that makes it all the more special when you do get a good deal.

that being said why don't you just buy online

Turners doesn't allow managers to give rain checks. they normally have the quantity on hand but one guy comes when they open and wipes them out. people ***** so much about turners but do not use common sense or critical thinking skills before opening their mouths. most of the yelp reviews ive read about turners are from impatient arrogant people who do not understand how a company works let along a gun retailer. im sorry you had to wait 30 minutes to pick your gun up like everyone else. get over it.

I have gone in a few times and have seen 2 or 3 boxes left on the shelf so I will take them all, and deal with the mean looks from people as I walk to the counter. With a store like the corona store with one small small center rack with 1/2 shotgun ammo and the other 1/2 the "other calibers" it would not be your ideal spot to go shop for ammo.

Which Turners do you work at?
Maybe you could have one of your co-workers come back and respond.

I have bought from many different stores, more from Turners since it is closest.
They are by far the worst at paperwork and amount of time spent.
Is 1.5 hours to take the FSC reasonable? (No, it was not that busy.)
At least the employees are nicer than MBR.

RG, DAS, Gunthers, Crosshairs USA and Ammo Bros beats them for service by a wide margin.

Put a deposit down for a Beretta Inox Brigadere featured in a Turners ad in early 2016. They said they where on order. Six month later they call to say Beretta has discontinued this model. In January this year rifle gear gets 2 in stock. That's the bad story. On the flip side in early Dec 2016 Turners runs a flash email for Kriss Vector in 10mm. Was was there in 30 minutes and snagged one. DROS and pick up process did take 2.5 hours total, though.

Hit or miss with turners. All boils down to the people behind the counter.

Gun Owners suck

We are the worst enemy of gun owners.....

We attack Turners for signing up more new NRA members than anyone else in the state......

We ***** that the employees always ask use to Join or Renew the NRA as the employee gets $5 from the deal..... we forget that every NRA recruiter gets paid a little bit....

For those who were not around in 1994 when the AWB was passed and gun shops failed all over CA-

Well that time might be here again...

And gun owners don't do anything but complain about the local shops- then complain when there are no local shops.... or the only remaining shop only pays minimum wage and the prices are too high......

I'm assuming corporate issued the ad without consulting the store locations inventory first.

Next time you can call the store first to ask them if they have what you're trying to buy

If these were actually enforced, it would be impossible to buy a new car because all of the dealerships would be closed and their managers in jail.

This is NOT true. Commissions are optional and I'd guess there are many who forego them.

I was more referring to your connection with Turners, since that is what the thread is about, and of course got threadjacked into something else.

I'm assuming that you have been volunteering as an NRA recruiter.

I have no connection with Turners.
Spent 6+ months solid working Gun Shows, fairs, fronts of grocery stores, you name it with the NRA Operation Golden Bear.

Okay...

But the original topic of the thread was how Turners advertised something on sale that they had never had in stock in at least one of their stores, and refuses to issue a rain check.

Of course, since the topic was complaining about a gun shop's business practices, the next step on this forum was for a particular group of members to tell us that we should be happy that we have ANY gun stores so we should be willing to accept abuse and bad business practices (even though there are many shops that ARE good businesses and are apparently profitable).

It really has nothing to do with those of us who volunteer our time to fight for our rights.
