Default P365 XL coming

https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/...-sauer-p365xl/

Quote:
Bridging a gap between it’s larger P320 kin and the original P365, the P365XL obviously wears a longer slide and barrel. But this new gun also offers a few additional upgrades over last year’s popular ultra compact concealed carry pistol.

Looks interesting but Ill wait till gen 3. I'm not beta testing first gen anything anymore.

If they do it right could do what the g19 did to the gun world.

Larger than a G26, but smaller than a G19.

It's an M&P 9 Compact?

There's no such thing as price gouging. Supply and demand determines price, plain and simple. In CA, demand is high and supply is low, so the prices are high. Unless you're saying a central authority should fix the price of goods and services, Comrade.

Very interesting. Too bad I'll have to wait until I leave Kalistan to get one.

A few companies are now doing “xl” or “long slide” versions of their popular carry guns these days, but only AFTER the G48 came out and people saw how much of demand it had (sure not as much as the G43X, but still popular none the less).

Another popular carry gun coming out with their own “xl” long slide is the Shield.

Marktallica

Sorry but I disagree. This is absolutely price gouging. We are not talking about an obsolete pistol that is rare or limited edition, it's a $500 gun plentifully available to everyone not living in the communist state of California. When you quadruple the price of something that is plentiful 30mins away because of a surveyors border, you bet your *** it price gouging. So is gasoline supply and demand? **** no, its business preying on consumers because of bueracratic bull****. Plenty of gasoline for everyone so why are we paying $2 a gallon more than everyone else if demand isn't an issue? Yes, it's a free society and anyone can charge what they want, but don't tell me it's not gouging people monetarily for something they want, not need. Huge difference!

How about an aftermarket 4” S&W Shield slide - without the CA garbage on it?

Funny! For $500 it's a very serviceable pistol....for $1500 it better also be able to clean the house, suck your dick, and then make itself invisible.

Why would anyone want a long slide for a CCW sub compact gun? Useless if you asked me. I’m sure there will be people buying it and hyping it up.

Its the new thing. Folks been wanting longer slide on shorter grips for years. The slide gets hidden but its the grip that sticks out. More slide gets more barrel and more velocity.

No they had these guns planned a year in advance. Glock just put out their model first. Smith is offering shield long slides because the market wanted it. I cant see people wanting a skinny g19 that only holds 10 rounds.

"I cant see people wanting a skinny g19 that only holds 10 rounds"

Just folks that cant have them in Ca. Lots of Irony right there...
It looks like it was made for the only state that can't legally buy it....
Cruel joke indeed....
I would buy a 43x and 48 over a 365.
But knowing they are $448, $448 and $469
will keep me from paying anything over that
just because I am surrounded by morons.

You nailed it - the part about how they almost seem designed for the CA market.

The nice thing about it is that you'll be able to get the grip modules for the P365 you own now, so if you want short slide you can keep it, if you want longer mags you can get the +2 grip module.

They make 10 rnd g19 mags. Why would they need to make a skinny g19? That was weak marketing. Its not gonna print any less. Maybe if you appendix carry but anything else it wont matter.

Not really cause they have 10 rnd mags for the g19. Why gave a full size and then a half size? You gain almost nothing from it.

The 365,despite the horrid QC, was a game changer. That small a package carrying that much ammo was moving the mark forward. Everyone else is playing catch up.

Carrying a long slide smaller grip pistol is great.

Think G19L or a G26L. I vastly prefer a G19L

You should be able to do that with a P365 XL once SIG starts selling the grip modules. You could buy the standard 365 grip module and the 365 XL guts should fit right onto it.

I carried a Shield for over a year and 3,000 rounds, then a G43, and the P365 is better than both (I also carry a G19 and shoot matches with a G17).

The P365XL sounds like a good idea at the right time.

For the guys thinking they can't get one, I bought three off-roster pistols last year, one of them priced as if we weren't in California.

The P365XL sounds like a good idea at the right time.

For the guys thinking they can't get one, I bought three off-roster pistols last year, one of them priced as if we weren't in California.
The shield was a decent shooter for me. I do not like shooting glocks and disliked the g43 even more. Was not a pleasant shooting experience. I shoot the 365 at Iron Sights and fell in love.

Sig should issue a P365 to XL caliber exchange kit, grip module, slide group and magazine - boom $400 est. and no FFL required.
