Yep. Bought one off amazon, app on my phone, about $20. Google the code. Its just a plug that goes into the port and connects to your phone.

Obd link is the one i got, but the torque app works with it and is better.

The BlueScanner is a great one off of amazon for basic needs. It connects to your smart phone. I use it at the Body shop I work at albeit I'd prefer a Bosch, the owner isn't ready for the bill!

Its IN english. Buy the one off amazon called obd code reader for $20, it hooks to your phone with an app, but the torque app is a better app and still works with the obd brand reader.

Dont spend the extra money to get one that tells you what the codes mean, just type the code into google and that will tell you what it means.

I know a couple guys with the Harbor Freight. It's still not cheap, but it's got a decent amount of features. Probably fine for light duty.

I know the ones that plug in and then communicate to your phone through an app can tell you your RPMs but do they get even more detailed like more accurate speedometer or giving you a better indication of oil or water temperature, rather than just the idiot lights on the dashboard?

I have one from Harbor Freight that was $19.99. I have used it on several cars including a Mercedes my mom had. She still took it to the Mercedes dealer since it was under warranty. The cheap HF reader showed the exact same code as the dealer.
