Default Boggs Mountain Clean up 8/16/15

This is from an e-mail I received:

Hello Everyone,

The proposed date would be Sunday, August 16th from 2-4pm.

We would like to hold the cleanup at the end of the day so shooters can come in the morning and help clean up afterwards so as to make it worth the trip.

The shooting area is at the southeastern end of Boggs.

and the entrance to the forest is located here:!3m1!1s0x0:0x0

During the cleanup, we would love to get some input on how the shooting area could be improved to:

1. Enhance skill development for all ages, and

2. Encourage mindful stewardship and respect for open spaces that are set aside for these purposes

Thanks so much, and please spread the word.

I've always want to make it up to boggs, this sounds like the perfect excuse. let just hope the rocky fire doesn't over take the hill.

This just in:

"Hello Everyone,

Due to the many fires in the area, I have decided to reschedule cleanup for a future date when we can get more assistance.

Many thanks to you and esp. to Dave Adams for passing the word.

Stay tuned, and stay safe!

Best regards,

For those that are wondering, this is right near where the Valley fire began Saturday. Early reports are unclear, however there is a very good chance that Boggs Mt was hit hard by this fire. For those familiar with the area. The old Hobergs Resort is reported to be completely burned to the ground. The town of Cobb and surrounding area was hit very hard. This fire has been very devastating to the whole of the Cobb Mt, Middletown, Hidden Valley Area.

So, did the Boggs shooting area get cooked in the fire?

The forest has been closed indefinitely. Deemed too unsafe for visitors. Yes, it was cooked.
