Update to original post:

Pushback successful !

We sent a rebuttal to the CADOJís request for pictures. In summary, we stated that we had fulfilled the requirements of the intra familiar transfer and were unaware of any requirements to provide photographs. We stated that this firearm was legally configured, and that we would provide the requested pictures if they would provide the applicable law that required this...a month later we received approval of the transfer.

Or, their own RAW registration regulations have even them confused.....

We were successful with our pushback on this. See post #40 for details. Took about a month for them to approve the transfers after sending that letter.

Thanks for the update! I sent my letter back beginning of April. Hoping to receive an approval letter soon.

What gets me about them doing this for all these various, non-aw registrations is this...

This arguably goes beyond being sleazy. The DoJ is willfully and knowingly making false material statements in writing. Unfortunately, I believe, it would be very difficult to argue that the statements were likely to result in a false confession of a crime (because you’re sending in photographic evidence.)

I got this exact same letter. Should I call the phone number they left? or just mail in the response basically telling them I donít need to provide photos.
Iím also debating just not responding.

I would just double check everything and respond with a letter that says the form was complete and correct as submitted.

I donít think they will complete the processing of the transfer if you donít respond. I called once but got the automated run around. We sent our letter certified and clearly laid out that we had complied with the requirements of the intra familiar transfer. We added that we would submit photos if they would provide the code that required this documentation. Like others have pointed out, this could be a case of utter confusion on their part... or opportunistic fishing. The fact that many people are getting these letters makes me think the latter scenario.
