Default Gimbal drive or swivel type pulley

Yeah, so, got an older riding lawn mower (Cub Cadet) which works fine but has a fatal flaw in the driving pulley that makes the mower bladed spin.

As the mower deck is lowered for a shorter cut the belt is at an increasing angle relative to the pulley to the point that the belt falls off the pulley.

I'm trying to come up with a way to alter/replace the main pulley to accommodate the angle without breaking the bank.

I saw a handheld ratchet with a gimbal and was contemplating a Bubba with epoxy to get a gimal mounted pulley which would accommodate a wide range of angles.

Calguns brain trust got suggestions?

the spindle on the deck is probably bent foreword and when you lower the deck the belt rides up and off , mine was doing this and took the deck off and bent it back straight
