Default Orange County CCW class recommendations.

What services / instructor have you guys used that you liked?

Am hoping to find one I can take two consecutive nights in a row.

Thanks for any and all input.

At the end of my class, someone was selected from among the students to try a scenario in their VirTra 300 simulation. You can get a sense of it from the video below.

Very thought-provoking and polished. They have been doing this a while. I will return to them for renewals.

Another vote for Artemis. If you're on the fence and have 2hrs free you can go to their monthly "Pre-CCW" class. Goes over some of the basics and explains the process. You'll get a chance to see/hear Steve's lecture style and see if it gels with you.

Another vote for Artemis.
Their CCW program is superior. They take the time to really engage the class. They're not just pumping you through to collect their $200.
The course of fire for their qualification is a bit more dynamic than most of the other classes (most of which seem to be held at indoor ranges). Their instructors will push you hard to become a more proficient defensive shooter in those few hours.
I've taken their Pistol 1-3 classes, their "Transition" course, as well as a bunch of the "4M" classes. Worth every penny. Actually taking my renewal class with them this Sunday.

Thanks you guys!

Artemis is it by popular vote.

Checked out their website and this place looks great!

My wife has actually mentioned wanting to take some firearms training classes and this looks like the prefect place.

Your comments and insight is much appreciated!

Ben Hansen Firearms Training was easy to schedule, decently fast moving, engaging, informative, low stress, and not too expensive.

FYI, Artemis is doing the free "Pre-CCW Class" at CRPA in Fullerton on 7/11.

It would be good to take the classes from both Greg Block and Artemis.

Not to hijack the thread but what do you guys think about online CCW classes that you can just watch 8 hours of video then do the live fire somewhere.

Also for the CRPA pre-ccw anyone done it and think itís worth the 2 hours or just do the class?

That idiot is a danger to anyone in CA that owns a firearm. He's a registered "expert" with the CA Supreme Court. May god help anyone who goes up against a prosecutor using this guy against them...he will proudly declare what "illegal" evil things you've done to any jury who will listen.

I did, and they have another one coming up on July 11.

The Artemis-led Pre-CCW class was what got me to apply for a permit. It allowed me to ask and get answers for all my questions/objections. I don't know if that class is always taught by Steven Lieberman, but the one I attended was, and he has a lot of knowledge to share. All you have to do is ask.

In hindsight-- remember, hindsight is always 20/20-- I probably would not have applied had I not attended that Pre-CCW class. It was very helpful.

Ultimately, I went to Artemis for training, which was also a good decision. I can't stand death-by-wordy-powerpoint-slides, which is what someone I know got from a lower-cost provider. He shared the slides from his CCW instructor with me, and they were awful, some of the densest text I have ever seen on a collection of PowerPoint slides. Boring, dry, a cure for insomnia. Artemis was the polar opposite.
