Default Sutter County "Shoot with the Sheriff" Event 5/28/19

Hey there folks,

Sutter County Sheriff, Brandon Barnes, is holding a shoot for any Sutter Co. CCW license holders on May 28, 2019, at the Sheriff's Range on Second Street in Yuba City. See the attached flyer for more info:

Disclaimer: I'm not affiliated with the SCSO. In fact, I can't even attend the event because I'm not a Sutter Co Resident. My CCW is out of a neighboring county. Just thought this was cool and wanted to share.

Seems like a lot of skepticism for what appears to be a goodwill gesture. They probably want to run the shooters through a series of training g drills requiring a certain amount of ammo. In these “guns are bad” days it is refreshing to see a law enforcement sponsored event like this.

Agreed, but I think it's probably more along the line's of what they do around here coffee with the cops. A chance to have a chat with the sheriff, and put some lead down range.

I thought the “concealed means concealed” comment would have telegraphed the humor of the post. The Sheriff knows you have a CCW...he issued it.

Then, of course, there’s the Admiral Ackbar meme.....

And then, the tinfoil hat and grin.....

So, for clarity, this looks like a good opportunity for a meet and greet with the Sheriff. You need 100 rounds because he isn’t going to buy you ammo.

The new state CCW qualification law doesn’t set standards or round count. It requires IAs to publish what their standards are.

But did you shoot with the deputy?

Did you claim it was in self defense?

In all seriousness, this seems pretty cool. I would try to attend if Sheriff Barnes held an event like this, but I also understand all of the logistics involved to pull it off successfully. Those resources would probably be best put to actual law enforcement use, though community/stakeholder outreach is an important part of the job.

Gavin Newsom is a lying, cheating slickster and will be is the worst mistake California has ever made if he gets now that he has been elected Governor. Hollywood movie producers look to him and his oleaginous persona as a model for the corrupt "bad guy" politician character. This guy is so greasy, he could lubricate an entire arsenal of AR-15s just by breathing on them.

If placer co. Sheriffs hosted one of these I’d definitely attend. They have a coffee with cops event every few months and it’s a good opportunity to just hang out. Range time would be pretty fun.

I shot the Sheriff, I did not shoot the deputy.
