Default Can Mossberg 151M Rifle (.22 LR) be imported?

This rifle was acquired by my father in 1939. It's semiautomatic, and holds, I think, 20 rounds. It's tube fed through the stock. Can it be shipped to California?
Not the actual weapon, but photo included for reference.

I thought that the 20 round capacity might be an issue. What about checking it as baggage on an airplane?

There used to be a rimfire tube exception. IDK if there still is.

As used in this part, “large-capacity magazine” means any ammunition feeding device with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds, but shall not be construed to include any of the following:

(a) A feeding device that has been permanently altered so that it cannot accommodate more than 10 rounds.

(b) A .22 caliber tube ammunition feeding device.

(c) A tubular magazine that is contained in a lever-action firearm.

I quite like my 151M-B. Nice little shooter. I'm sure you'll like it, too.

Those old Mossys are very accurate... My M-44 is one of the straightest shooting 22s I own. Please post some pics if you get it as these are not real common.

And I found this information about taking it on the airplane. This is easier than I anticipated.
