Remington 700 Recall

when i was a kid an older gentleman i grew up hunting with was loading his ADL gun to shoot a bear that was tearing apart a pickup truck at 5:30 am in hunting camp and his Remington 700 he had used for years discharged when he closed the bolt he swore for 15 years he never touched the trigger yet could never recreate or make it happen again. the bear got away and he never trusted that gun again. actually he 4 years later put it away and never used again until his death. i always doubted him then in 1999 in alder montana hunting antelope i loaded a round into my 243 BDL as i climbed out of the truck, no sooner did i exit the truck, following proper protocol always pointed in a safe direction, when i flipped off the safety the gun discharged. it did it once more two years later to a friend of mine. since then every remmy 700 i own gets timney right out of the gate. i don’t trust factory triggers and hate adjusting them to where i want em. all of my previous never were adjusted..... . never had an issue since.
