I know.... Perfect! A good several days for some drying.

Is anyone bringing a truckbed that can haul out trash, or a trailer?

I'm still not 100% if I can get one, my big car hauler trailer is in the valley with my big truck

Does anyone have a plan for disposing of the trash? I don't suppose the county will let someone drop it at the transfer station since there is a high likelyhood of there being live rounds mixed in with it..

I'm fairly certain if we coordinate with the Rangers, we can leave the trash there and they'll have it hauled out. If anyone knows better, speak up.

I just called the Ranger's office, but the secretary didn't have an answer. I was told I'd get a call back from a ranger about it.

I'm going to be at the Cajun Kitchen (Chapala and Canon Perdido, Downtown SB) at 8:00 tomorrow morning. If you're hungry and in the area, you should come by.

I got my man thats printing the cheap Cal cards (btw - free is free, so the quality might not be the best lol ) to print up 100x 8x11 targets as well.

As for a hanger - i've got 2 lengths of galvanized conduit tubing i just drive into the ground w/ a mallet and use some tape. Not the greatest thing ever but it works.

I could take some 2x4s i have lying around, and put some nails in em and make it so you just have the 2 bars running horizontal....

hey thats a great idea

PVC makes great frames, and you zip tie a piece of cardboard in the center to staple targets to. They are cheap and easy to make, so in the event someone (not me) misses the target and hits the frame, its not a huge loss. I'll see if I've got enough 1/2 inch laying around. Anyone have a couple of pieces of rebar we can drive into the ground to stand them up?

Anyone bringing radios with them? I'll be monitoring the K6TZ repeater (146.790/-/131.8), and FRS channel 1.

Man, I grew up in SB and have been shooting up there before as a youth and young adult with my pops. I wish I was still in the area and could help you guys clean up.

From a native Santa Barbaraian, I thank you.

It's clear in SB right now, and (judging from the radar) shouldn't rain tonight/tomorrow.

Great turnout, folks. We did good!

I stopped in at Goleta Valley Gun after coming down the mountain. Rick thought it was AWESOME that we did the cleanup and sent his thanks.

This is where I found a copy of Juggs magazine, under a broken TV and a piece of plywood. If anyone wants to go back up and get it, it's still there.

It was great meeting everyone today. I agree that we should try and make this a monthly meet. It's amazing what an hour or two can do. The two friends I brought with me had a great introduction to shooting and I think we really set a good example for them.

Monthly is super ambitious, but if we can swing it even once every 6 or 8 weeks each successive trip up will require less effort.

BTW, everybody in this thread should click on the link in my signature and check in! Checking in does not automatically sign you up for participation, but will give us the chance to hound you for help in other events!
