Default New CA resident? Hard to get DL ...

How can a new California resident register firearms without a CA state driver license? DMV is not accepting any new appointments.

Find a location close to you that is open. Get there early and hope you're not there all day. If you're in so cal I can give you a couple of ideas of where to go if you're willing to go for a drive. You could still be gone all day but your wait at the dmv would be minimal.

I'd plan a trip to a lesser DMV.

Where I live, Folsom, I can either wait 3 hours at the DMV or take a motorcycle ride to Grass Valley one hour each way and wait an hour at Grass Valley.

I make the trip when I have a choice.

There's none of that crap here. As it should be. It's by appointment only. Period end of story. The days of waiting at a California dmv are absolutely over and have been.

If California dmvs are closed that's more stupid business practices. When I was at the MVD updating my driver license by appointment only, they didn't request me to surrender my California real ID and I asked what I should do with it. The clerk said take it to the shooting range. You'll never need that crap again here. Lmao.

Now that is a perfectly good use of a CA ID card

The DMV by my house opens at 8am. Got there at 6am last week and I was 2nd in line. This was for my Real ID.

The DMV is a cluster****

Waited 2 hours in line and the whole process inside took 10 minutes.
