Just wanted to give a BIG Thank You to Addax Tactical and kaligaran. I picked up my lower the other day and for now it's going into the safe and I'm going to build it one day and pass it to my daughter when she's old enough.

She's only 21 months right now so I have a little bit of time to wait for deals on parts before she's ready to shoot it.

Wow. all I can say is wow.
I took advantage of KDGuns FFL deal for $30 DROS on this awesome lower. Waited patiently for some confirmation from either Addax or KDguns. Today, I got confirmation from Addax that it was shipped and delivered to KDguns on April 18.I call KDGuns and they are CLOSED UNTIL FEBRUARY AND WON'T RESPOND UNTIL THEN.
Needless to say, I'm F@#$ING PISSED.

February?

Surely that's an old message?

Same on their website. That sucks! Did they get their FFL suspended, or forget to renew it?

I'd try to get it transferred to another shop, and then never spend any money there ever.

"Valkyrie" disease is spreading?

Yeah exactly!

I would imagine if they had their FFL suspended, it couldn't be shipped. IDK... I'd definitely transfer it.

How do I go about transferring it?
They are closed until Feb. How do I get a hold of someone?
It got delivered on the 18th and they closed on the 21st.

Unfortunately I have absolutely no idea. Maybe ping Addax and see if they can offer some advice? Or a local FFL to you that may have some additional info about what is going on with that store.

I have to say, you folks proved that a group buy on calguns is possible, and hopefully will show the way for future successful group buys. I know
kaligaran lost some sleep over all this, and Addax got bombarded by phone and email, but it was a success, and you proved all the anti-group-buy folks wrong. We all might have got a bit testy at times, but I have to say, this GB rocked, and thank you for being so professional thought the endeaver, and saw it through to the end. Rifles are being built, around 300 more, which makes it even harder for a nuisance confiscation plus $3000 into the CGF war chest. Thanks for making this happen!
Eric

Thanks Eric!

It sucked that we had a delay. I'm really happy everyone understood that it was the industry screwing us and not the retail location providing the group guy.

That $3k to CGF is HUGE! I can't wait to see CGF kick the sh$% out of these idiot politicians in the courts.

So I got my lowers out of jail today.

I had never built a lower before so I decided to give it a shot.

The first one took about 45 minutes to figure out where it all went. The second one took about 12 minutes.

Now installed is a CMMG LPK with 2 stage trigger and a spikes T2 buffer tube.
I haven't installed the mag release b/c I haven't got bullet buttons yet.

These lowers are so nice, everything went together perfectly.

Thank you Addax!

And here is a crappy iPhone pic:

NICE! There's something to be said for the 'standard' look. It's pretty.

I hope people keep posting pics of their builds.

I've managed to pick up one Adams Arms carbine upper that I found for a reasonable price. Haven't got the second though.

Started my paperwork on Saturday to get my build going. Can't wait until I pick it up in a couple of weeks. Found an upper and the other parts at another shop 20 minutes from Addax. So I will get it put together and get pics up as soon as I can.

If you need to complete a build I do know somewhere that can help you out with uppers. Just PM me and I will point you in the correct direction.

Thanks for the offer. I'm holding on SB47 and also my possible out of state work transfer before I purchase BBs.

I have other rifles that I can steal the BB off of to take these new toys to the range for testing.

Well, I was right, neutered mags and Bullet Buttons absolutely suck!

..but that's ok. It was a good opportunity to spread the word about the CalGuns Foundation to a few people.

This is my first non-RAW. BBs and 10 round mags are gonna suck, but I'm hoping the CGF logo will help spread the word.

Thank you Addax, Kaligran, and of course the CalGuns Foundation.

The build is from an A3 parts kit from RGuns

(Note their delivery times are SIGNIFCANTLY longer than they state and communication is not the best (or even adequate))

Anyone try 10/20rnd gen 2 pmags in the magwell? I just tried my lower from this buy and the mags get stuck. One of my pet peves..

The lower is not assembled, its stripped of all parts. I was just checking if mags would drop free and they don't unless I use metal mags...and the pmags take ALOT of force to get them free.

Addax please advise. (I'm aware of the Pmag "file or sanding" to make them fit but I really shy away from that if possible....). I had an issue with TM awhile ago and they had to re-broach my lower..(they admitted to thier problem, small amount of serial numbers when I got mine)

Anyway looking for any advise and thanks in advance!!!!

Just went and tested both of my lowers (still don't have the mag release installed but other than that they are completed).

My gen1 10/20 pmag is loose enough to fall out or at least with a slight jerk of the lower. I don't have any gen2 pmags to test.

I also tried my gen1 10/30 tapcos and they don't fall out at all, instead it requires you to pull the mag out manually.

Hello OneGtalon,

We have seen and experienced fitting issues with a small batch of 10/20 Gen 2 Pmags we sold last year in several different manufacturers AR15's. We ended up swapping out the magazines, and the problem was solved.

There have been several reports on line on several forums of some owners experiencing the same tight fitting issue with Gen 2 Pmags in some mfg's AR15's. Sometimes Pmags are slightly larger than others and this causes some tight fitting with various AR15 lowers, which is why some folks end up sanding their Pmags a little to make them easier to insert and remove.

The fact that steel magazines fit just fine in your lower leads us to believe your particular 10/20 Pmags might be slightly bigger than normal, and this is creating the tight fit situation with these particular magazines and your lower receiver.

Quick Tips:

Try different Pmags like 10/30 pmags, and see if you encounter the same situation.

Also, use some gun oil in the mag well. The anodizing might just be thick and the anodizing needs to be broken in. It might take a little time to break in but sometimes this does the trick.

Email us at sales@addaxtactical.com if you have further questions or concerns after trying our tips.

Rest assured, if our lower is the issue we will take care of it.

Thank you,
AT

Addax, thanks. I'll play around with them later. I don't like to sand down my mags and it's funny how i got 8 of them Pmags at different times but the non-modified ones all get stuck in 2 out of 6 lowers (80% build or not)..grrr (diff lowers, all tolerance stack up issues, unavoildable IMO, engineer by trade)

Since this lower is going to be on the shelf until I get a cool matching upper (cough "hint hint" cough) I'm not planning to use or sell it anytime soon... I know about the sanding the mags part, I just kinda wish the magwell of all manf were opened up a little but as you and I know it's a tolerance stackup + mag issue. Just a little annoying.. And u need to build to print.

Just wanted to know if anyone else out there had issues...

Yes, we do manufacture to print, which means that USGI steel/aluminum magazines work just fine in the magwell as designed.

Pmags were desgined to fit just a little tighter in the magwell to help keep dirt and debris out of the action, and to reduce magazine play vs. USGI mags.

Most of the time Pmags are good to go, but sometimes you might get one or several Pmags that are running a little bigger than normal, and you get the tighter fit in the magwell and of course you get tolerance stacking.

We just read a thread on another forum that someone was having tight fit issues with their Colt and SIG AR's and several of their Pmags.

We will update everyone once we have the materials in to make new upper recievers.

Thanks,
AT

My new Calguns lower got some test firing today, took the upper off my previous build (JD upper, Colt BCG and Bravo Co. 16" barrel w/ BTE adjustable gas block) stuck my new Aimpoint PRO onto it and ran about 60 rounds throught it, ran like a watch.
On the Calguns receiver i decided to do things a little differently, the parts kit was RRA with thier 2 stage trigger and instead of using roll pins I tapped the bolt catch hole for 4-40 set screws and used some 3/32 drill rod sandwiched between the 2 screws.I also put a set screw into the rear take down pin spring hole. I just got a YHM upper for the calguns receiver but no barrel decisions yet.
