Not sure where to ask this but seems like this is the place . If I have an 03 ffl and a coe ,I can buy ammo online delivered to my house .Not for sale but solely for my own use ,do I have to keep some kind of record of this ammo ?

I've looked and haven't seen it discussed elsewhere.

If I give ammunition to someone, does it count as a sale and/or count towards the 500 in 30 days limit?

A gift isn't a sale, so it can't count as a sale. The 500/month is a sale limit without a license. See CA PEN 30342.

Is there some loop hole to selling more then 500 rounds? I see many ammo sale ads here. Most or all of them are 500+
I'm assuming the sellers have proper license to do so? Can you sell 500+ and let the FFL split the sale somehow?

I have a lots of ammo I stockpiled back in the day when we could legally order online. I know ammo lasts a long time but I would like to start rotating some older stock out. But even at the high price ammo is going for it's not worth my time to sell 500 rounds a month.

Any ideas on how to sell off 3 to 5 thousand rounds?

This may be beating a dead horse but can't you just "give" someone ammo anymore? Regardless if you're related or not?

Asking for a friend.

Asking for a friend.
The Gifford’s anti-gun group, who wrote the proposition, says:
Quote:
State law authorizes people to sell or share ammunition with their spouses, domestic partners, parents, grandparents, children, and grandchildren without the participation of a licensed vendor CA PEN 30312. It also authorizes people to freely share (but not sell) ammunition in person with friends and shooting partners, unless they have reason to believe that the ammunition would be illegally provided to a criminal or illegal user CA PEN 30306.

California currently prohibits people from supplying ammunition to any person they know or reasonably should know is prohibited from possessing ammunition (PEN 30306). California law also make it illegal for a person to supply ammunition to a straw purchaser with knowledge or cause to believe that the straw purchaser would subsequently provide that ammunition to a prohibited person (CA PEN 30306).
Caveat: The Gifford group isn’t your friend’s lawyer.

So it sounds like it's okay to give/share ammo with friends or shooting partners as long as you can reasonably deduce that they are not criminals or intend to use the ammo criminally?

I see many ammo sale ads here. Most or all of them are 500+. I'm assuming the sellers have proper license to do so? Only the sellers can tell you what they’re doing and how they’re doing it. PM sellers and ask how they’re doing it.

Can you sell 500+ and let the FFL split the sale somehow? See above; it doesn’t appear that you can legally sell 500+/month to anyone unless you have a vendor license.

Sorry I'm late to the party. I have a 03FFL, but no COE. Can I buy private party ammo without having to go through a licensed ammo vendor? Thanks!
