Remove this posting. Because of CA laws I cannot accept ammo anymore. I still have 99 rounds of professionally loaded 44-40 LRFN cowboy spec for $80

What changed?

I’m guess you weren’t really, an Ammo Dealer and were using an 03 FFL.

It means that if a private individual is sellin spare ammo, and you want to buy, the both of you have to do the transaction face to face at Coyote point armory.

The FFL charges a fee....

if you buy ammo online, this FFL will not receive the ammo shipment and will not allow the buyer to pick it up...

It seems like there are lots of confusion still in place. Called a few FFL in the area but it sounds like there are no solid guidelines from DOJ yet. One said will collect sales tax and one said no sales tax. One said no limit and one said there's a limit. One said they don't touch private party ammo transfer at all. I even talked to one that said you can just transfer it without being in the store because there are no published guidelines for the FFL to do the transfer, they will start enforcing the policy starting in July. Hopefully I can get a hold of someone is DOJ in the next few days so I can get a solid answers for you guys.

I do agree, out of the places I called. Coyote point Armory sounds the most friendliest to do private ammo transfer.

On ammosportsusa. You can pick a approved FFL vendor for California and find one in your area and give them a call. I found a local FFL that only charges $5 per 1k rounds bought.

Maybe I missed it as there is a growing list on this topic...is there one running list published ?

Susanville - Chester ? My search has not proven fruitful.

Help fellas...where can I pick up my ammo without having to drive 100 miles to Red Bluff??

Yo, everybody get your Curios & Relics license. Cost about $210.00 over a 4 year period. Order your ammo online and have it shipped to your home. Check the prices onTargetSportsUSA. Pay $95.00 up front every year and all shipping is included. If you would have paid less they will credit the difference. You can order 1 box at a time to test different ammo, it’s awesome. Go on YouTube to get instructions on applying for your license. Do great and you’ll save a ton.

So I call good ol' Turners and asked about ammo PPT. I get the reply - you don't have to do that...so no we don't do that.

..I don't know what to make of that

Thanks!! I am aware of farwest. Nice guy. I ended up just buying from SW in Milpitas this time black Friday.
Elite armory in Castro valley is also an option.

Just called Coyote Point armory. They said they no longer do PPT ammo transfers (that's all I asked).

Looks like Brian Nussbaum and Peninsula Guns are the only 2 near SF that does PPT ammo now.

Kind of new to this. Thinking of moving out of state. Lots of factory ammo to sell. Where can a PPT be done in the Hayward area? And what are the limits on a PPT? Thanks for your help.

Finally found some target ammo at double what it should cost due to the China Virus rush. Paid $309 at PSA for 1000 rds. (Should be $159) supply/demand.
Tax: $27
shipping: $25

Had it shipped to a store in Santa Rosa- G4 Firearms. I called them after I ordered and they do not take kindly to not approving orders in advance but will charge me $85 for the transfer.

Called Santa Rosa- Rinker Arms and they want $50 to transfer

The inflated cost is $309
Tax, Shipping, Transfer $137

Not to mention the hassle, phone calls, visit to the shop that I shipped to make sure there was no offense taken for my actions. Been in CA my whole life and keep saying "this is getting bad" but I'm still here...

Any FFLs in the Los Angeles area still willing to do ammo transfers at this time? I think most of them don’t want to do one as are still busy with the huge amount of business they’ve had in the past couple months.Hopefully, there’s a few out there that will still be willing to do this.

I wish. FFLs all have huge lines right now. I keep getting beaten out for reasonably priced FMJ 9mm ammo. As a relatively new gun owner who admittedly picked the worst time to start, I work and can never make it to Bass Pro or Big 5 in time when they get their shipments. I was 10 minutes past 6pm at Bass Pro in Rancho Cucamonga yesterday after battling traffic for 90 mins, and they had stopped ammunition sales for the day. By this morning, they were sold out.

x3 for Lambert Pawn. Very efficient for ammo PPT. They do ask people to call ahead and set an appointment. Moderate fees - $14 for ammo PPT. But no lines! And very professional. 10/10.

They also stated that they are willing to accept mail order shipments for pickup/background/transfer.

And they have a small inventory of hunting rifles/shotguns in stock.

Can anyone confirm a place in Los Angeles doing transfers? I can't find anyone. I have called several that said NO. And there are several others that don't answer their phones or respond to emails. What a joke.

Looking for an FFL in the SFV / Simi Valley area.

Any FFL accepting online purchase orders shipped to them and what are the transfer fees?

TIA
