Seems in one of the pics with the current President of Russia, they are using the FAB handguards which is Israeli in origin. It is what I have.

Someone asked how does all this make a rifle more accurate?
LOP - Do you really want a shorter stock if you have long arms or want a more comfortable posture when benching, shooting standing, or kneeling? I prefer the ACS stock as it gives me a nice cheek weld and heft to absorb recoil. Weight is not an issue as I have heavier rifles.
Optics/ Optics mount - You really think some of the yahoos here are tagging 200+yrd body shots consistently with steel sights. I can and there is no way I am doing that with steel CONSISTENTLY.
Forward grip - I know a lot of you practice on the bench however, you all should be practicing everything...Standing, kneeling, bench, prone (if allowed), etc. Forward grip helps in the standing, and kneeling, especially if you are doing 5 shot groups and/ or accuracy on follow up shots.
Lights - Surefire is my customer. If you need a light to blind someone or just for home defense use, you want something that withstand the recoil of a 30 cal or larger round. Lights are good for HD if that is what your gun is for.

To each is his own but most guys I see shooting with steel come back with crazy groups. You all don't train to spray and pray I assume? I need mine tighter than that to feel satisfied.

Nice rifles and well done!

Improved this AK.
Before and after.
Much better rifle afterwards.

Very slim profile.

What side mount (and rings) are you using? I don't think I've ever seen one that mounted a 30mm tube so low, other than the RS Products AK mount.

I have an Aimpoint 9000SC on my Kel-Tec SU16 and seeing that on your gun has me convinced to move it over to my AK-74.

The mount is PK-01V.
It's sold with only one offset ring, I had one already that came with Russian red dot... Purchased another one (just the mount with a ring), moved Russian red dot to RS Product mount and used leftover ring for Aimpoint.

Here's the leftover mount without the ring.
Unlike some of the other side mount...... This is a heavier all steel construction.

Lifted this from arfcom.
Not sure if its Photoshopped or not but I see American accesories here. The first pic looked suspicious as the op is wearing multicam. Real or not I like the look of these AKs.

Thanks again. I wonder if I can find another offset ring - I didn't see any on the Kalinka Optics site.

I current have my Aimpoint 9000sc in a single ring mount on my SU-16 and have had no issues with it. I might try the RS Products mount with it anyway.

24205 AK47 Compensator
Works pretty good, better then 75% of other ones I've tried and there's quite a few on that list.
Not as good BC but still really good.
I'd say its worth every penny and then some.
Being on a low cost is even better.

anyway.
Saiga fore-end modified. Still working on a few other small things.
Looks really good in person and feels much better then original.
TRL-1S, Magpul AFG, Sling attachment..... Magpul rails drilled/attached to fore-end, secure and just in the place where they're needed.
It looks as it was made this way at the factory. Fit and finish is excellent.

Probably would look better if pic was normal size.
.
.
.
.

I know it's known as a pistol but I don't think it really fits in that category. IMO pistol is same as handgun and AK "pistol" is not a handgun.
It's more like a hybrid or a cross between, nonetheless it's still an AK.
My final modification on this Draco.
Using sling in opposite tension mode, it's surprisingly easy to keep the sight consistent on target, I'd say it's nearly the same (or easier/faster) as traditional stock..... but if your not used to or careful you will bump fire it. Practice fixes that problem.
For those who think these are not practical or whatever. I completely disagree and if you haven't fired at multiple targets with similar setup then you're simply flat out wrong.
This is probably the closest thing to PDW (from a traditional PDW standpoint view).
As for the mag lock (yes you zfields), it's like a Ferrari owned by someone who's never drives over the speed limit. It doesn't mean that the car isn't capable or never will..... Time, location & circumstance (yes, in that order).

I have made a few and final changes to her... the AFG has been replaced
with with an RFG and the T-1 has been relocated backward a few inches.

Weight with magazine and sling removed: 7 pounds 6.2 ounces

I had Iraqis giving me their hard-earned $ for me to order UTG rails for them so they could hang flashlights and cheap red dot sights. I'm a fan of the classic AK, but when you kick in a door (or hear tham bump in the night) and it's pitch black you'll be happy to have a light on your target.

BTW, that is one nice Saiga!

Body shots @ 200 yards with an AK in proper specs (not some farked and twisted homebuild) should be no problem at all.

The problem isn't the sights. The problem is that much like manual transmissions, shooting with iron sights is quickly becoming a lost art. For some reason people think they cant hit anything pas 50 yards unless they have magnification and a red dot.

That's not it, your missing the point in all of this.
Personally, I can hit human size target even further with irons BUT with a red dot I can do it faster and fire another follow up shot or two even faster.
There's a very good reason why military issues red dot sight to troops, it's called efficiency. Plus it eliminates tunnel vision at closer ranges that irons present and in combat it can get you killed.

Just like some tools, some can perform the same task better with upgrades.

I'm not missing the point at all. I never said red dots and the rest aren't an improvement or a benefit. I said that the statement that you can't hit minute of man @ 200 yards consistently if you have iron sights is false insomuch as its not a rifle issue its a shooter issue.

And I also said many people have either lost or never bothered to acquire the skill of properly learning to shoot with iron sights. Thats also true.

Converted Saiga. Modified just a bit more from what it was (handguard+ TRL-1S and 2 lower connected rails for AFG/sling adapter )
Cut off rear tang and secured adapter from the top (trunnion)and side receiver holes. The most stable adapter of them all, they're all good but this one is just a bit more.

RS Product AKM mount. Not as good mount as PK-01V one, solid but not as well made.
Russian red dot (1.5moa), similar quality as Aimpoint sight except the battery life for which I'm unsure (but I don't think it would come close).
