I made my S 1050 .223 carbide purchase last night! The Graf site showed it in stock so hopefully not too long of wait.

I just received my Dillon Super Swage 600 from Graf and Sons, plus I noticed that my LGS just received a whole lot of Dillon products. The wait may be getting shorter.

I'm saving my pennies for a 650, my wife wants to be the master reloaded and doesn't like manual indexing. Hopefully projectiles and primers start to reappear at decent prices too..

Ordered mine on Jan 29th. So according to your posts, once mine comes in, it will still be another 3-4 weeks before it even ships? That's a f'in bust. There is no way companies are still 3-4 weeks behind in shipping in-stock orders unless they are a manufacturer.

I noticed the Graf & Son Dillon product webpage is changing what is in stock on various models. When I made my purchase on Sunday it showed only 1 in stock and that was the only reason I made the transaction. Today it shows Less than 5 in stock.

https://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog...productId/3212

Has anyone made contact with Graf to confirm what is in stock? I will try to call today.

I just called and received the long recording and my wait could be up to 30 min.
I'm a little confused how the page showed 1 in stock Sunday then less than 5 on Monday.
If someone makes a purchase, the counter should automatically be updated accordingly.
I will wait this week to see if my order is updated.

According to someone else in this post, Grafs get's shipments form Dillon every week. So may very well be in stock. They still have a 3-4 week shipping delay for in-stock items though.

Yes, that. They called and allocated the inventory to my order on Feb 20th, so it still took Grafs a month to get it to my door.

The wait may be brutal but I have had my Dillon 550 since 1991 and you will find your wait is worth it! Probably one of the best made things I have ever bought.

I saw a bunch of conversion kits for 650 and 550 at Barnwood today. 650s were 45acp,41 mag, 40 s&w, 9mm,380 acp,44 sol,45 lc,204. The 550 had 9mm, 44spl,45acp,357sig,45lc, and 204ruger. Just thought I would pass it along

The last 2 pieces of my XL650 shipped Tuesday from Grafs!

Last package shipped includes the XL650 in 45ACP and 45ACP dies.

Order date was Jan 29th, so roughly 8 weeks from order to final ship. Everything else came about a month ago.

Hi El_Nin0619,

Did you receive your caliber conversion kit from Graf yet?

I'm curious if your order time frame matches Graf's approximate delivery dates.

Feb. 17 – Feb 23 ====== March 18 – March 22

Cheers,

1) Get two presses: One for large primer, one for small primer. At a minimum. Obviously it would not be cost effective if you reload for a ton of different calibers, like me, to get a press for each caliber.....although that would be flipping awesome . For most people, this just isnt feasible. With the amount that I reload, I'd rather spend more time changing stuff out than spend another $1200.....unless of course I was selling my ammo, but I dont have an FFL license. I just dont need to reload that much and in my case, time is NOT money on the weekends.

2) Get the DELUXE quick change kits from Brian Enos: (powder die, toolhead, powder measure, toolhead stand, etc). This makes MUCH shorter work of any necessary caliber/primer system change out. Also get a quick change priming system.....this negates having to take the priming system apart and changing out the wheel from small to large primers....just bolt the entire new sized priming system down. There's only two different sizes (small, large), so it wont cost you that much more (I think like $81 or something?)

3) This is a FAR DOWN, last resort option. Buy standard caliber conversion kits (toolhead and powder die) and face the pain. You will be required to re-set up your powder measure to dispense the proper amount every single time you change calibers. You will be required to take apart the priming system to change the wheel out if going to a different sized primer. You will hand-feed cases one my one without the casefeeder. It would take so long to do all this that, in fact, I would never change calibers. I would only do this if you reload for one caliber as it will literally take you an hour to two hours to get it all figured out and set up properly every single time you change calibers....and I would still DEFINITELY get the casefeeder.

I will include one option outside of caliber changes, because I think with the 650, it is absolutely essential: Casefeeder. If you dont have one, you will likely only be able to load 25% of what you could WITH a casefeeder. The 650 is just made to use one.....really awkward sticking a case in with your hand instead of using the casefeeding system.

Other things you will need for a caliber change: Likely both sizes of priming system (small, large), small and large primer pickup tubes, proper sized shell plates for different sized cases, casefeeder plates for different shell sizes (small rifle, large rifle, magnum rifle, small pistol, large pistol).

I'm sure there's something I am forgetting, but generally, these are the main components that will enable you to change out calibers the fastest and reload the fastest. To sum up:

1) Casefeeder for speed and ease of reloading
2) Both Quick change priming systems
3) Deluxe quick change caliber conversion kits
4) Get a shop vac with a small, tight nozzle for all the powder you will be spilling when getting used to the new press

To change calibers and if you have all bells and whistles, going from small pistol to large rifle, you must:

1) remove toolhead
2) unscrew and remove shell plate
3) unscrew and remove small primer feeding system
4) go underneath and remove primer exit tray
5) stay underneath and remove small primer seating system
6) replace small with large priming seating system
7) replace primer exit tray
8) get up and bolt down large rifle priming feeding system
9) bolt down appropriate shell plate
10) remove and replace casefeeder shell adapter
11) remove and replace casefeeder shell plate for large rifle plate

Your 650 should now be completely changed over to a new caliber and with large priming in place. Without all the bells and whistles, there's probably an additional 10-15 steps that take a loooong time.
Forgot one step loosen allen set screw for the shellplate bolt.

You'd be better off no just buying your presses retail at either oaktree, angeles or turners. I've seen lots of 550's, 650's, and 1050's in the past couple eeks.

This definitely holds true if you want it now, but sales tax on a large purchase is quite a lot. I get the Dealer discount at Grafs which is quite good on Dillon. Still saved a lot from MSRP after the big shipping fee.

Placed an order through Enos for a tumbler, separator, case gage,650 spare parts kit, as it should be upgrades, and primer flip tray on March 4th and as of today's date have not received anything from that order. On a side note I ordered a case feeder with large pistol plate on March 6th and got it two days later. Go figure.

However, I was quoted a 4-6 week wait so I still expect a few more weeks before I see anything else.

I wish I made my S 1050 order directly with Dillon. I hear Graf is approximately 6-10 weeks behind schedule.

Super 1050 w/ .223 carbide dies and powder check.

BTW, I saw two RL550B's boxes on the shelf at Turners today in Kearny Mesa.

My 550B turned up yesterday!
Ordered 2/8 so within the 4-8wk expected delay.
Of course the carrier delivered it to the wrong address - same number similarly spelled street just near by, so final delivery by neighbor.

Default 303 calibre conversion kit just arrived.

Ordered online from Dillon website on 03/22. Shipped 03/28.

I'm guessing this is not a popular calibre to reload.

I just spoke with Dillon again today and placed another order for the shop. They are saying 6 weeks for delivery. I have three orders placed with 2 weeks between each one I will keep you posted if I receive it that way.

I placed a big order with Dillon last Monday and was told 4-6 weeks before everything is available to ship.

Sent my recently acquired (used) 30 year old 550B in for refurb on Wednesday of last week. They told me 4-6 weeks for the refurb.

Got a call today. Refurb is done and is shipping back to me tomorrow!!!! That's less than a week, including shipping!!!

They replaced a few parts for free and charged me their standard $65 fee.

Very happy customer here.

Ordered another XL650 setup for a friend on Sunday via Grafs. Let's see how long this one takes. From my other order 2 months ago, I have everything within 7 weeks.
