Very nice...but the 1-6x24 is a waste on an otherwise very nice build
A 300-400 yard scope on a 7.5 barrel should instead get an Aimpoint

picked up my Colt AR15 in 9mm last month - got an AG-43 grip on the way, i've changed out the handguard with a Magpul - not much else planned for it

Upper rifle:

A Colt old style A2 upper with a 20" barrel on a M4 carbine lower.

Lower rifle:

A Colt M4 carbine upper with a 16" barrel on a old Colt A2 lower.

I put them into the safe together for a week, and when I took them out again, they came out like that...

PSA lightweight 18” rifle length gas system, 223 wylde chamber, free float 15” handguard. RRA LPK with trigger changed out for a CMC 3.5. Stock is an RRA operetor A2, magpul flip up MBUS sights, lower is an 80% I milled. PRI brake/compensator.

Complete build was $650-700 not counting my time to mill the lower. Got the trigger for $100 and the stock was $82 on sale, LPK was $47 on sale. Upper with the sights was $320-$340 complete. I think I paid $45 for the 80 percent. That took about 20 minutes or so each to run when we were machining a bunch of them, so it wasn't bad.

This is probably my new favorite rifle. From a bench with handloads and iron sights it will put them all in the black on a 6” black bullseye. That’s with bobs bulk bullets 55gr, which are not even match grade. Really fun build.

I've got a similar set up.
PSA 18" 416RSS .223 wylde with 15" MI Keymod handguard and MI muzzle brake. Toolcraft nitride BCG. I have it paired to a Ruger AR556 complete lower.
To make it featureless, I swapped out the stock and grip for the MOE fixed carbine stock and SI fin grip.

How you like it? I really like mine...love how light it is. Not sure if it’s a ‘lightweight’ build but it feels really light compared to my HP service rifle.

I pound on it at the range. I get it so hot the white (lithium??) grease on the barrel nut is running down towards the pivot pin. bench it after standing and blasting the steel and the groups stay the same, no stringing. Really impressed for the price.

I've only taken it out once and put about 125 rounds through it as a function test and a real basic accuracy at 50 yards. I bought the upper from a calgunner, got the bcg and ch seperately, paired it with a complete Ruger AR-556 lower from Turners. So, I wanted to make sure everything is functioning 100%. So far so good. I just mounted my vortex 4-12x scope and will zero it at 100 yards next. Then I'm looking forward to doing some factory ammo testing. So far it seems to like the Fiocchi 55gr 223.

as far as weight, mine comes in at 6lbs 9oz (no magazine, no optics). But, I just saddled it with a chunky scope mount and scope. So, it's probably up to 9lbs fully loaded. But, it's basically going to be a bench/range gun. I fired about 20 rounds off hand. It's not too bad with the fin grip.




I'm contemplating putting a fixed A2 stock on it.
