Are you the one who put all those freakin' HOLES in the ceiling?

Here's my wife's first target with my Rock Island Tactical @ about 10 yards. It was the first time I'd taken her shooting but obviously not the first time she had handled a 1911.

This is the first 18 rounds out of my new-to-me S&W M686 no dash. Big Dog magnum loads at 10 yards. The ragged hole is 12 rds SA & the surrounding 6 are DA.

15 yards 1911 Kimber Custom II 45ACP. First target of the day. 50+ rounds. The 1911 is really growing on me. Had some bugs to iron out at first, caused by my adding aftermarket parts like an extended slide stop that gummed up the works and not the fault of the gun or Kimber, but it looks they've all been smoothed out.

I'm suprised this picture thread is not more popular. In any case, took my Glock 17 9mm Gen 2 to the range today and had a pretty good day. The target below was my only target for the day. Shows the good and ugly with about 100 rounds fired. Started off low and to the left, which is odd in that two weeks before I was high and to the left. After a little warming up things moved into the 10 ring. Then fatigue set in and I got a tad wild and drifted back into the 9 ring. Wasn't able to train full speed. The range masters were on people about that today because there were so many people there. I was about 75% speed. Met a lot of really nice people on the range today. A coulple Calguns members, though I forgot to ask their screen names. A father and Sheriff Deputy teaching his three boys how to shoot. As well as two couples. Guys teaching their girlfriends to shoot. All and all a nice day at the range.

I like that one too. One you see in courses a lot are ones with playing cards randomly on the target. You get x number of shots (depending on the type of game they decide you're playing) and you shoot against another shooter or group of shooters to see who gets the best hand. Can be used with handgun, rifles, and at long distances even precision rifles. Neat idea, only I don't gamble and don't know what makes a good poker hand for example. So even if I am on a roll and shoot really well I can still loose because somebody is a better card player. You also get the people who randomly get lucky. It is more for a self assesment and for fun than anything else. A nice trigger control drill to calm people down before working at speed again.

First 5 rounds I ever shot from my Glock 17 @ 10 yards. Needless to say I instantly fell in love with my Glock after this.

Total of 50 shots, off-hand, modified Weaver stance, H&K USP .45 ACP pistol - Good, but not perfect.

Default P92

[/IMG]

Beretta P92. Just installed the Hogue grips 2 weeks ago. Very comfy, but still getting used to it.
Red dot Burris FastFire II attached directly onto the slide.

Both are 8 inches targets shot at 15 yards. Winchester X 147gr FMJ.
The top target is with the dominant hand (right). 20 rounds. First shot was off the paper
Bottom target is with the weak hand. 10 rounds.
Looks like I need more practice!

Wish I had put something to show scale. It was a Beretta 92fs 9mm. I am still pretty new to handguns but I took probably 4 or 5 minutes with these 10 rounds at about 13 yards. It is the kind of target that has 5 of the same targets on it.

Dang alot of you guys have really tight groups. This is mine I shot today at the sheriff's shooting range in Orange on Katella. How'd I do for 25 rounds at 20 yards?

Black target is only 5 1/2" big.

Beretta M92
50 round combat course, 35 yards to 15 with combat loading

Yes, all the ones pulled to the top right were the DA on the M92, the 3 low left were the off hand rounds(out of 5)

Soon to come with my new XD which I shoot better

I love the accuracy of this work of art.

It is obviously more accurate than I am. All shots were taken in double action mode at the same distance with my dominant hand (right).

I got it for $400.00, "used."

It doesn't even have a turn line on it--no scratches or wear.

A thing of beauty.

When you hold it, you feel so many curves in your hand . . . well, let's just say that it feels so right it can't be wrong.
Nice job, I sold one looking just like it, model 66, but it had pacymar grips when I sold it.

Going from big to small with a par time of 25 seconds, speed reload after every 5 rounds. One miss, not to shabby. From 7yds shooting 165gr .40 PMC from a Sig P229.

The 4 circle is about the size of a dime, the 3 circle abour size of a quarter.

45 second par time, speed reload every 5 rounds. Couple of misses on this one.

From concealed, long shirt, IWB @ 3, 7, & 10 yards, Push & Press. 6 rounds from concealed and 6 rounds from reload @ ea. yard line. Started thinking too much after the reload from the 7 yard marker and ended up w/ some loose ones @ the top. Nothing special, but lots of fun! This was the first time I ever carried w/ one in the chamber of my XD40. Still getting my confidence, thank you W.T.S..

While I see the similarity, it's not exactly the same as the way they did it in the movie. They have all the cards on one target and strategically positioned close together to make a screw up really hurt your score, rather than having individual cards stapled to a backstop and spread out across a large surface area. The way they did it in the movie is more about target aquisition within a scope than demonstrating how a slight lapse in fundamentals changes the end results. With the handgun version, the cards are very close together. So if your fundamentals are off, you could be aiming at at high card and accidentally end up hitting a very low card, all because you jerked the trigger. It is basically a trigger control drill with the added stress of competition thrown in. It spices up a potentially boring drill.

I still can't get over how few people post in here compared to how many post in the handgun, rifle and shotgun picture threads. This thread should be on post 4 million nine hundred and ninty-eight by now.

Love my new XD .45. Haven't shot a semiauto pistol since 94 and wasn't sure about shooting 45's but I love this gun. The target in the background was shot at 15yds. Not bad if you ask me. Plan to get even better with more practice.
