Nice. I think I bought a Smith & Wesson pen awhile back for my wife. Haven't seen her use it much though.

re: Cross, I've been recently looking at pens a lot and I came across a semi-antigun pen from them. Kinds "crosses" them off the list for me, as far as new pens go.

Reminded me of the recent Benchmade controversy.

Zebra Sharbox I got as a farewell gift from Japan. Has the carbon fiber look for that tacticool/racerboi feel.

I have to have something with some width and roundness to it. Thin pens make my fingers hurt.

Nice Pen. I have a Benchmade that writes nice, but there's no place to place the cap when you take it off which is very annoying.

They also have various rifle cartridge pens. Pretty cool company, and the pressurized ink cartridges are awesome in zero-G

If you're feeling extra splurgy, you can get a commemorative of the original astronaut pen for $700

Yeah, that's why the Cross sets are 'someplace'; too thin for me. And I hate '2-hand' pens - retractables are my answer.

Compact, full size with the cap on, and the ink smells really good!

You folks all have some good taste in writing implements.

I'd like to say that I exclusively use Pilot's erasable " FriXion " pen.

It's writes smooth and erases very cleanly by using the heat of the scrubbing eraser and thermal reactive ink. It is way better than any other older ink and eraser technology I've ever seen trying to accomplish the same thing.

The main downside is they were not that cheap originally but have come down to around $2 per pen on amazon.com

https://www.amazon.com/Pilot-FriXion.../dp/B01DMTPL9U

And now you can also get the clicker type pens as well as the cap top older type.

Here's their commercial on how to get out of a speeding ticket with one of these pens ...

https://youtu.be/K_l6tYdzAH8

I wouldn't recommend that but this types of pen technology definitely has some uses in certain applications. Even with some of its downsides, for example they didn't seem to write for quite as long as a regular pen does but it's still worth it if you want that erasable trade off.

I started this here ramblin by mentioning I'd like to say I use these erasable pens exclusively but the truth is I just use whatever pen I happened to have around me and I need it.
And that is just usually a slightly better clicker pen with gel ink.

And I thank You Readysetgo , for giving us a new topic thread.

Yeah, whenever I think about a capped pen, I talk myself out of it and drift towards a clicky.

" Come to think of it, I haven't seen an erasable pen with my own two eyes in years and years."

I think you should get a pack of Amazon and if they don't write well enough for you just return them.

It's a cool novelty but like I mentioned above there are some applications and times in your life when you need a pen (not a pencil) and you might like the benefit of it being erasable.

These newer technology ones from Pilot that are nothing like those old erasable pens are worth the money, in my opinion.

Also I looked at my disposable pens and the one I use and really like a lot (even though it's just a cheap plastic clicker pen) is the pilot G2 (07).

The gel ink write's super smoothly and the ink cartridge seems much bigger than most disposable pens.

I'm left handed as well. We're the only people in our right minds.

I have a sailor fountain pen with a zoom nib that works great with fast drying ink. Also, the retro 51 tornado pens have a quick drying roller ball that is killer, and I hate roller balls.

Zebra F-701 modified to accept a Fischer space pen insert. You have to use parts from the Zebra F-402 to make it all metal. I love this thing!

I don't leave the house without my fountain pen, I have dozens and rotate through them, although I do have 3 favorites, Parker 75 Cisele from the late 1960's, Wahl-Eversharp Decoband and my newest one a Visconti Lava pen. Those are the 3 I use the most often, but I have many others. I would take a pic, but I forgot my cell phone at home today, didn't forget my pen though.

When I was a kid, I found a 75 Cisele in my Dad's office desk drawer. Couldn't get it to write, so I figured fountain pens were crap. By the time I was old enough to know better, Dad said the 75 was long gone he knows not where.

The pen stuck in my head because of the connection to Dad. So jump forward to around 2003, and I'm on a work gig in Boca Raton, Florida. Project had a dark day on a Sunday, so I drove over to the "world's largest flea market" on the edge of town. While walking through the spaces, I see a 75 Cisele on a table, but it is brown from all the tarnish on. Price tag sticker says "Brown plastic pen - $6" (the 75 Cisele is made out of sterling silver), and the seller tells me $5 as I pick it up. Given that a) tarnish can be cleaned off easily, b) the pen was aesthetically and functionally perfect in every other way, and c) the price was about 3% of actual value...yeah, I bought it.

Yeah I own my 75 for the same reason. My dad had one, my mom had the ball point pen version. I inherited the ball point but the fountain was long gone. So I had to buy one. I paid a lot more than you did, it was also hard to find with a stub nib but I did it
