Default Guns that no sane person would collect

Ok,I'll go first. There is no valid reason for this collection....just ask my wife.
The guns of 11/22/1963, yes they are all correct.

I'm guessing one is a Colt Cobra .38 and the other is a Smith & Wesson "Victory" Model .38.

and the handgun of Jack Ruby. Very unique for a pivotal moment in U.S. History. Same reason why many collect WWII Nazi proofed guns & Imperial Japanese guns. Why not?

It didn't just kill a President. It enabled a welfare state!

The president was not killed on live television. Zapruder filmed the assassination with a super 8. Oswald was killed on live television. All models of firearms have killed people. Does that mean that we should not collect any firearms?

Thanks for showing a great collection of the guns from that tragic and pivotal day in U.S. history.

On another note, does anyone know what kind of gun Patty Hearst (Tania) is holding in that famous picture? The one where she wears a beret and there is that Symbionese Liberation Army logo of a snake in the background? It looks like it might be a scoped M1 carbine with a 30 rd. magazine. For the record, IMHO the SLA was a lame group that killed innocent people while robbing banks to earn money for whatever their political goals were.

Patty Hearst was photographed (by surveillance cameras) in the bank with a short barreled M1 carbine .30 caliber carbine.
The LAPD museum shows an M2 (or Full-auto converted M1) with an under-folding steel skeleton stock and shortened barrel, it has the perforated steel heat shield on top.

There is another posed photo (in front of SLA mural), where she appears to hold a Spanish Star (based on the German MP40) 9mm SMG with a flashlight or scope on top.

Gun owners vary just as much as any other group or population of people.

You always seem to have some well-balanced people who have legitimate concerns and would like to seek civil solutions to problems, prior to any kind of tyranical or extremist reaction. However, on the other hand, you have blantant unabashed idiots who would go out of their way to destroy due their incorrigble ignorance, hatred, and self-righteous egos!

The right to bear arms will erode into a privilege because of self-righteous
fascist who would quickly deprive you of your rights, once they've succeeded!

I say, I will defend my country until my very death!

We still have a working legal system and the right to free speech. We have the capacity to effect political and social change in a nonviolent and a civil fashion long before we should think of taking up arms against our government or anyone else.

You mean like where you can find the correct rivets, snaps and buckles from the mid fifties ? or the fact that it takes over 2 hours to cut ,taper the triple thick extension pieces and assemble the sling set. {and you are dealing with 3 different thicknesses of leather to do it correct}

OK, I see where it may take some time & several 'odd' parts to complete. I'd like to do a side-by-side comparison between yours and the guy from Texas' replica/clone that is made from of the actual Air Force shoulder holster (New Old Stock) from the same batch as the original one Oswald rigged together.

I just handled a Carcano for the first time at my local shop. It was a very nice gun. Very cool.

Add another gun to the "no sane person would own this" list:

The M1 Carbine.

You might ask, why would no sane person own it?

-Because the ammo for it is about as powerful as .38 special (For FMJ, with SP ammo it is more like a .357 magnum), AND each round cost $0.40 even when buying in BULK. So only people with suicidal wallets will want this gun.
Such as me.

Yes. Last he posted, he only had one left (don't know if more are being made - I emailed him for status & pictures). His price is $50.00.
http://forums.gunboards.com/showthre...Carcano-Slings

EDIT: He emailed me right back and is in the process of making another batch. Apparently, his source of the original 1960-era Air Force shoulder holsters is hit-or-miss from time to time. Craig (the maker of the slings) has an abundance of the original hardware, so he is just waiting on the leather parts. I will be getting updates as they come.

I saw that picture before Netscape existed.

That was a VERY old "Photoshop"... or whatever was used in the late 80s when CGA/EGA were still available and VGA was new.

That punk pulled a Glock 7 on me. You know what that is? It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. Dosen't show up on your airport X-ray machines, here, and it cost more than you make in a month.

There is another posed photo (in front of SLA mural), where she appears to hold a Spanish Star (based on the German MP40) 9mm SMG with a flashlight or scope on top.
Off topic but I did a window replacement on the house next door to where Patty H. was kidnapped in Bizerkly, the front transom leaded glass window had a bullet hole in it from when the home owner looked out his front window when they were driving away with Patty and they shot up at him!

I offered to take the old broken window (just a bullet hole off their hands and haul it away (to my house & put it up on e-bay) they declined the offer.
