Default Need stock worked on

here's my problem, small hands, i have a relatively new Boyds varminter laminated stock on my Tikka t3, real Purdy, but, the grip is just too big for my smaller hands, I can't get a good grip, does anyone know somebody who could reduce the grip size, and keep the good looks of my rifle, also is it costly, thanx for input

I am not sure what finish they use but just some 80-120-240 sandpaper and some elbow grease to reduce/shape the grip then some satin clear poly to seal it after sanding. You can also stipple the grip area while refinishing for a better grip pretty easy with either a wood burner or some stippling punches like these https://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-t...s-prod396.aspx

Getting someone to do the work for you will probably be $100 so I would recommend doing it yourself if your up to it.

You're describing hours of work and anyone who values their time is going to charge accordingly. Carpenters get at least $35 per hour if they're getting cash.

The finish on the stock needs to be chemically stripped, sanded, palm swell reduced and the entire thing refinished. You could buy two or three new stocks for the amount you'll spend modifying it.

It's only feasible as a diy project!
