Swfa price point would be Nikon tactical and vortex diamondback tactical. Not sure if either will be clear enough for mile distance.

The reason he's trying multiple scopes is not to have three to choose from at the same price. He wants to try various alternatives for people that might want to spend a little more. He explains it in the first video for this project.

Okay, he finally finished the rifle. At the start they were mostly launching bullets and crossing their fingers hoping for a hit. Which isn't much of a surprise because he freely admitted at the start that 6.5 Creedmoor isn't a great cartridge for this job.

Then towards the end he seemed to get it somewhat dialed in. Part of it may have been because he used a 12x SWFA at the start and changed to a Nikon Black FX1000 4-16x at the end.

I'm a fan of Social Regressive and his budget oriented, garage mechanic approach, but this 110 Tactical Desert is almost the same money by the time you include the stock and other stuff in his project. Plus, it's ready to go out of the box:
