Best .308 scope for under 500 yds?
Hey guys- picked up a Daniel Defense AR-10 in .308 and need a scope. I’ll be shooting at 100-200 yds, maybe 400. Budget is $600- $1400. I want good glass on this gun. 1X6, 3X9?? Need some help. Thanks in advance!

We have quite a few options from Nightforce, Vortex, Burris and others all over that price range. Feel free to call us at 916-670-1103 and I'd be happy to discuss the pros and cons of each.

I don't have one, but the new Vortex Diamondback scopes in FFP have been really tempting for me...

As a general rule of thumb $ scope > $ rifle. A DD5 is a pretty great rifle with a retail value around $2900 new. You may want to re-assess your glass budget. Spend the money once, get it right as great glass will outlast what it is attached to - this goes for rifles and camera bodies alike. The products referenced in this thread are all varying degrees of “good” and would work on rifle length AR-15’s as a great compliment. But I don’t see them as really the right mix for a DD5. Depends on what you want to do. I really like the vortex strike eagle 1x8. It has a bdc that is set up to 600 for .308
