Depending on where you are in NorCal I can recommend GrayOps (mainly out of Sac), TTA (SanJose/Morgan Hill) or LMS Defense (Sac/SJ/East Bay/Oroville) as I've taken classes with all three.

A couple of others I've heard about but not taken classes with are Louis Awebuck at Reed's in Santa Clara, Alpha Dog Tactical and Stoic Ventures in the San Jose area.

Check out the class schedule subforum here for more choices and upcoming classes.

Good luck!

Default +1 To Stoic Ventures and Alpha Dog Tactical

I have attended rifle and pistol classes at Metcalf with both Stoic Ventures (Mike) and Alpha Dog Tactical (Jeff). Both are high quality instructors, and excellent classes. Can't go wrong with either one.
I have also attended classes with Nielsen Training (Todd) at Metcalf who was also a great instructor, and I also recommend Team 3 Tactical if your looking for something a little close to the east bay, they train at Chabot R&G (Joe, Warren, Tony.) I'm in Richmond so not having to drive to SJ to train is always appreciated

I have heard good things about TFTT (http://www.tftt.com/) and they teach out of Sacramento on occasion.

Rudy Waldinger of DFT (http://dftraining.net/index.php?dft=dft_aboutus_staff) teaches out of Coursegold. He is skilled and a fun instructor to train with.

I took courses from the following before:

San Jose:
http://www.westcoasttacticaltraining.com/
http://www.stoicventures.com/

Sacramento:
http://www.gofast1.com/

LMS Defense has course in both cities.

There are also sometime other instructors touring NorCal, such as Chris Costa, Bob Vogel, Larry Vickers or Ken Hackathorn

Rudy runs smaller classes and his courses are almost unbelievably affordable for his skill level and the real life experience he draws on

Louis is definitely on my short list for tactical shotgun . . . just not sure I want to do it on an indoor range.
