Damn I would have suggested a benelli. Something big, bold. May I suggest a benelli m4? Textured grips, should your hands get wet. An Italian classic.

Mossberg 500's and 590's and Maverick 88's all have the basic action, and the forend is always wobbly and rattle-y. You just have to get used to that. Also the screw for the tang safety switch likes to work itself loose. Blue Loctite will fix that.

Remington 870's that have the basic SPS finish rust like crazy even in typical California weather. Unless the surfaces, inside and out, are coated in oil or rust inhibitor. This applies to all Remington SPS-grade matte black finish firearms, such as the 700 rifle, and not just the 870.

Well I just bought a Stevens 320 with a 4 + 1 capacity for $209.99 and it went on sale at $189.99 the week I picked it up, so Sportsman's Warehouse gave me the sale price... So I guess that one could call it the "Glock" of my shotgun collection!

I also have Remington 870s (on the center left) with several different barrels and a Mossberg 500 (on the center right), which cost quite a bit more. One can get the magazine tube extensions for the Remington 870s at a decent price.

This week Big 5 has a Mossberg/ Maverick model 88 with two barrels at a sale price of $239.99 plus tax and DROS...

edited - I just checked, and that is the every day price for the same model Maverick model 88 with 2 barrels at Sportsman's Warehouse.

I guess I never noticed the M500 being rattly - maybe I don't know any better. My safety screw is tight AFAIK, but I will check tonight. Mine's only 21 years old though.

Is that why my Rem700 bolt handle is brown?
