Default FFL for curios and relics

I'm looking to cancel my ffl for curios and relics.

It saids on the application, I'll need to give my firearms record.
Do I need to go to a ATF website and print out a specific firearms record form? Or does the ATF just needs a regular print out from my home of the make, model and serial number of said rifle?

Why do you want to cancel instead of letting it expire?

My ffl 03 is expiring the 1st of December 2019.
I got a letter saying if I want to renew or not.

So i can just let it expire? I dont know have to send the letter back stating I dont want to renew?

Just let it expire. No letter needed.

Ok thanks. About 6yrs ago I got my ffl 03. But haven't used it since when I bought couple of rifles yrs ago.
I wasnt sure if I needed to send in the letter the atf sent about renewing or not.
I didnt want to get in trouble for not sending in the letter about not renewing my ffl 03.

I didnt realize you can just let it expire and not get in trouble.

I read it about it letting it expire. But needed to make sure.

Thanks

Sure you want to? Means you can still buy ammo online shipped to your house, can drive back into CA with ammo bought out of state. No ten day wait if you decided to pick up any qualifying firearm. Plus who knows what new legislation is coming that it could shield you from.

Do I need a coe inconjuntion with my ffl 03?
Can you provide a link that states this?
I'll also look into it myself.

As for 10 day, that's with only with modern firearms right?

Thanks

I would need a COE and ffl 03 for me to have ammo shipped to my house, or buy out of state ammo and able to bring in ammo into California and no 10 day wait or 1 in 30?

Yes, for direct shipment the COE, FFL shipment destination need to have the same address. Or at least the FFL and the ship to address.
Here is the thread where we track out of state vendors who honor the exemption. https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/....php?t=1406001

Once you have get live scan completed, you usually get the COE within 1-3 business days.

Do I need to go to a ATF website and print out a specific firearms record form? Or does the ATF just needs a regular print out from my home of the make, model and serial number of said rifle?

03 FFLs are exempt from surrendering their records.

No. Licensed collectors are not required to submit their records to ATF upon discontinuance of their collecting activity.

I know buying CR handgun online will need to go through FFL01, how about buying CR long gun online? can the CR long gun be shipped directly to the door?

Short answer:

If the C&R long gun is being shipped from within CA, then yes, it can legally be shipped directly to the address of the buyer with a valid C&R FFL & valid COE. [PC 27966]

If the C&R long gun is being shipped from out-of-state, then no, it must be shipped to a CA FFL dealer, who will then transfer the C&R firearm to the buyer. [PC 27585(a)]

Long answer:

Under CA laws, starting of 01-01-2015...

All firearm transfers are to be done through a CA FFL dealer. [PC 27545]

An exemption to this is if the buyer has a valid C&R FFL + valid COE and is acquiring a C&R long gun within CA. [PC 27966]

An exemption to this is if the buyer has a valid C&R FFL, travels out-of-state, physicaly acquires a C&R firearm, and brings to back to CA. [PC 27585(b)(1) & 27565]

Starting 01-01-2015, a CA Resident with a C&R FFL/COE is no longer exempt from having to utilize a CA FFL dealer when acquiring a C&R long gun from out-of-state and having it shipped to CA. If the C&R long gun is shipped from out-of-state to CA, then it must be shipped to a CA FFL dealer (who then transfers it to the CA resident with the C&R FFL).

CA passed new laws that went into effect on 01-01-2015, that require CA residents that acquire firearms from another State and import them to CA, to be transferred to them through a CA FFL dealer. [PC 27585]
^The only exemption for a CA resident with a C&R FFL is if they physically acquire the C&R firearm and bring it back to CA. [PC 27585(b)(1)]
These new laws makes it illegal for a CA resident with a C&R FFL to have a C&R firearm shipped from out-of-state directly to their address.
^Misdemeanor per long gun. Felony per handgun.
