Default PPT at Turner's in Pasadena - 1 hour paperwork time OUCH!!!!

Just read the thread about Turner's in Pasadena. On the positive, yes; all the employees there are courteous.
I was there yesterday for a PPT, briefly after 10:00 AM. What I did not appreciate was the long processing time for the PPT. From the time an employee began to help us to the time I walked out more than 60 minutes went by.
I chose Turner's Pasadena since it is halfway for both me and the person I traded with. I'm embarrassed that I recommended this location! The person I traded with apparently used an FFL in Burbank before who could have handled the transaction in significantly less than half the time.
When we set up the meeting, I figured that Pasadena was a bit closer. Hindsight, the shorter on-site time at the other dealer would have more than made up for the extra drive.
Nothing against the courtesy of the personnel at Turner's Pasadena - they are as someone stated in the other thread - one of the better locations.
I don't understand these excessive times. I've purchased or PPT'd firearms from various dealers and none of them take that long.

I have the option to pick the gun up right at the end of the 10-day waiting period, but I'm reluctant to do so since I'm afraid that a 35 minute time window on-site may not be sufficient. That means prolonged waiting period for the next weekend that is open on my schedule and another 2-hours driving time, plus whatever will be needed on-site.

In the past Turner's pointed to the new system that was giving them a hard time. However, that was months ago. I would like to get some feedback as to why this excessive amount of time is required.
