Don't do it....sounds like your app date is pre 2/28 so they will issue without a good clause statement. Are they trying to get you to reapply to petaluma with a new app date?

Request an appt. with LT. Basurto. Take a copy of the current Ca penal code with you. No where in the law does it say they can refuse an appilcation. It says they MUST file the application, thus it MUST be accepted.

If he continues to ignore the written law, do the like the rest of us have done, submit a report to CalGuns Foundation:

Remind them of Lu v. Baca.

http://www.calgunsfoundation.org/201...riff-lee-baca/

The SCSO must take your app.

Sonoma and Marin [where I live] will probably be the last counties to have Peruta shoved down their anti-2A throats.

I'm certain anyone on the 707 thread would be happy to shove. Be it dry like the desert, or as rough as sand paper.

Thank you - I filled out the form and included the picture link.

I know this is heel dragging crap as I have a friend with a Sonoma County Sheriff issued CCW permit who lives within Petaluma city limits, prior to this last couple of months the SO handled all CCW matters for the whole county.

Next possible step?

Wasn't there a recent case where the opinion stated that the sheriff is required to accept applications for all in his jurisdiction, not just defer to the city?

Got a letter from the SCSO today, passed the finger printing
Next step is the qualification.

Looks like they still want the three letters of GMC, and a note from my doctor though

That's good to know. I applied 2/21. Got a letter saying I passed the initial screening. Did the DOJ live scan 3-4 weeks ago. Haven't heard anything since. With the cost of DOJ scan, I'd be pissed if I had to appeal and go through that again...

Windsor. So it goes through SO. The lady who did the DOJ scan also said she knew nothing about requiring letters of recommendations or a doctors note. Might not mean anything based on the updated SCSO website though and the letters others are getting that state otherwise. I put self defense, along with a "good cause". Hoping I don't need the unconstitutional GC. I'll be impressed if they honor the apps turned in between 2/13 and 2/28

Your "good cause" besides self defense may actually give them a reason to deny you. From my understanding you want to put "legal self defense" for your good cause and that is it.

Ahh... that would have been good to know. Too late at this point. I specifically stated legal self defense, but... followed it with a GCC. Hopefully it doesn't affect the outcome. Either way, its been almost a month since the finger print scan and I haven't heard anything back from that. So fingers crossed.

If you didn't get your application in during the window, you'll have to wait for the Peruta decision to become final before Freitas is forced to accept more.

Sorry.

Given the good news today, and given the fact that the SCSO actually accepted "self defense" for one week after the Peruta decision and before the AG's petition (demonstrating their apparent willingness to follow the law), I submitted my application today.

I will share my progress if and when I have any info.

I suggest you watch the 707 thread and see about getting a big group of 707 'ers and get Ray to give ya'll a class. Carpool.

Either way, yer looking at about $300-$350 for yer permit.

Bonne Chance!

Good luck to you. It's just my guess, but I don't think anything will change without a mandate. I'm waiting to see what happens in the next 7 days.
