My renewal class is coming up, is there anything I need to bring besides a money order ($28), note pad, and a pen?

Your ID, maybe some water and a snack.
Do NOT take your firearm into the renewal class!!!!
USPS money orders only.

Where is your class?

Have you been there before?

My class was there (normally do it at HQ) and parking is a PITA.
Arrive early!

That depends on where in rancho Cucamonga his class is.

They do it at two different locations.

Haven't been before but good to know! I was under the impression that the class had to be done before paperwork turned in. Mine expires on 6/15 but I'm not adding any new guns.

Yep Rancho Council Chambers too. Is the parking lot east of the PD viable or by the court house? Do you need to pay for parking?

That's a good place to park. There's no cost for parking.

Paper work can be done anytime except the day of the class.

Parked in the Chambers parking lot and it was free.

Yes, I turned in the paper work in April when the 90 day window opened. Renewal letter states it's not a good idea to do it at time of renewal.

Thanks for the info Mrs 38 Special, I will leave "The Springs" early to give me time to "stalk" a parking space. Que jaws music following people walking back to their cars.

The Springs?
It looked like a number of people parked across the street/entrance drive way in a larger lot.
Hubby was with me and dropped me off then did the stalking. Took him awhile but managed a spot in the row facing the Chambers.

Good luck and have fun!

Newberry Springs, vacation paradise of the high desert. Thanks! I don't get many chances to see the big city. Apple Valley is normally the farthest I go. Don't really care much for "below the pass".

Haha!
I was thinking of Santa Fe Springs.

Now why is it that any town with "Gardens" in the name is a complete s-hole?

Hopefully the weather straightens out for your day. If it was like my range day, it was miserably hot. Take lots of water/drinks and lunch. Have fun!

So on my renewal.

Expires July 1st.
Paperwork at the Sheriff's Office in San Bernardino April 5th or 5th.
Range day to change a pistol, May 1st.
Renewal class in Rancho Cucamonga. MAY 14th.

New permit recieved May 30th.

New permit effective July 2nd.

Downside:

Old man has to remember to swap old permit and new permit on morning of July 2nd!

Challenge accepted.

Hats off to the CCW at SBSO, with the number of people applying and renewing, they stay on top of the process pretty well.

I just slid my new license under my old license. But I actually believe that just carrying the new card would be fine. It's an "issue" date, not an "effective" date. But I have OCD when it comes to this stuff, so for now, carrying both.

I did that as soon as I got the new CCW, before I forgot to do it.

Besides OCD, my memory sucks, so I will probably have both in my wallet for at least a year.

I got a speeding ticket in Josephine County, Oregon. Do I need to report this to the San Bernardino Sheriffs Office? Thanks for the info. Cheers.

Yes.

EDIT:

On second thought. You weren't carrying in OR with your CA permit so I'm going to say no.

Takes less than a minute to fire off a email. I say better safe than sorry. Self reporting is always better.

A speeding ticket is "offical contact", and I was told in my renewal class to
"REPORT ALL OFFICAL CONTACT".

At no time was the statement ever quantified by caveats of. If you are carrying, if you are in the state of California.

Send the email.

It will only hurt for a minute that way.
