Default San Diego CCW: SDCGO Good Cause as a “Fearful Individuall”?

I’m putting together my Good Cause statement in preparation for the March 12 seminar being given by SDCGO at The Glockstore. I figured I could get their input. I noticed that in their list of categories that have successfully applied is “Fearful Individual”. In my mind this is pretty much the same as claiming “Self Defense”. Or is this just being used as a catch-all category? Anyone should be able to claim they are a fearful individual, right?

Fearful of what?

Provide examples in your statement.

Successfully applied or successfully approved? An important difference.

The list on their website is stated as "examples of good cause statements". I didn't see where they said they ended up being approved for permits.

EVERY good cause statement is essentially self-defense. You have to prove you have a higher chance of having to protect yourself than someone else.

FEARFUL INDIVIDUAL

I am afraid that I could be injured or killed as a result of these business, travel, and leisure activities, and for these reasons, I respectfully request that I be granted a license to carry a concealed weapon.
Yeah, it sure sounds like someone got issued with just SD and an elaboration on what situations/reason might make them have to exercise their right of SD.

HOWEVER, if I were you, I would not use the minimum GC I could legitimately muster, but the maximum so ensure my best chances of being issued. You'll get your best advice for San Diego Co at the SDCGO class. In the meantime, you may want to look over my advice thread for CoCoCo and other non-green county applicants at:

Do you know that the posted good cause statements on SDCGO's site were approved and resulted in an issued permit?

If you think it is a reasonable interpretation that SDCGO put on their "How to Apply for a CCW" page under "Good Cause Statements" -- without specifying them as such -- statements that were either denied or ones that they made up and don't know if they'd work or not, I won't argue with you....

I expect Michael will reply at some point, but the only one on that web site I am completely familiar with (mine) was an approval. If I had to bet, I would say they are all successful GC statements...
