Default Need help fitting a stock on a mosin

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, it may belong in gun smithing.

I recently purchased an ati stock for my mosin knowing cheap software there was a good chance it needed to be fitted. It's gonna need some sanding to get it to seat properly.

What I don't want to do is just jump in wily nily with the dremel. Is there any way to tell where it needs to be sanded. buy cheap software Any tips or tricks would be helpful thank you.

The best thing you can do is put the stock in a 450° oven for 20 minutes, then it should be much more pliable

What I did was to lay the barrel/receiver into the stock then squeeze the front of the stock to the barrel with one hand then with the other hand squeeze the receiver area to the stock as you let up on the first hand and you can see where it rocks back and forth.

Also you could wipe some grease real thin on the stock then lay the barrel in and see where the grease transfers to the barrel.

Mine felt kind of funny till I tightend the screws up then it kinda all came together except the slot for the magazine is to tight and pinches it enough that the rounds will not feed. I need to open that area up.
