Riveting is the way to go, much easier. Drill a hole in the stock/bar, then rivet.

Then the saddle covers anything up.

Did you need photos of the process, I don't want to take it apart?

That’s why I added the carry handle, but I can switch to the Recon configuration in less than a minute for a lighter more compact carbine.

Or Bren configuration for something different.

RRA A2 Buttstock Assembly
Fulton Armory Lower Receiver
Stag LPK
Bushmaster 10rd mag
Wilson Combat scope mount
Burris Fullfield II 3-9X40mm
YHM Low Profile gas block
JP 1st generation free float tube
White Oak Armament 20" Stainless Service Rifle Barrel (1-7)

In a fixed mag OLL build; I thought a collapsable stock and forward grip were not allowed?

Looks Great!

With a fixed magazin you can have all the evil features your heart desires.

12276.1. (a) Notwithstanding Section 12276, "assault weapon" shall also mean any of the following:
(1) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following:
(A) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon.
(B) A thumbhole stock.
(C) A folding or telescoping stock.
(D) A grenade launcher or flare launcher.
(E) A flash suppressor.
(F) A forward pistol grip.

Anybody have a pic of a 16" mid-length upper with a Daniel Defense lite (9" or 10") rail and a folding front sight?

Gun specs:
Stag lower & ambi LPK.
A2 stock (RRA I think).
CMMG upper: A1 upper, 16” government profile 1:7 chrome lined barrel, midlength gas system.
YHM brake/comp.
XO tritium front sight.
Custom, SB23 legal, “monkey style grasp” grip with integrated push knife.

More pictures, and details on how I made the unique grip:
http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ad.php?t=39534

I'm really liking this grip. It is almost as ergonomic as the original pistol grip. It’s actually easier to hit the forward assist with a monkey grasp than with a pistol style grasp. The only downside is the only way you can hold the rifle one handed by the grip is if you have the stock tucked in your armpit. On the upside, that does mean it is non-evil under Ally’s Pistol Grip Rule: I cannot hold the rifle one handed at my hip, therefore I will be unable to hold the rifle one handed at my hip and accurately spray bullets without reloading.

CMMG carries uppers like mine pictured above, but they get their forgings from someone else, so I assume they can be found from multiple vendors. I personally like having the dust cover, forward assist, and brass deflector.

I'm probably being redundant here but just wanted to throw in a quick disclaimer: If you're using 30 round magazines limited to 10 rounds be sure that the magazine must be destroyed to disassemble it. Recently Bill W. wrote a post about this and with the present situation involving regulatory attempts it's probably best to stick to dedicated 10 rounders from Bushmaster, Armalite, and Stag. Personally I prefer the Armalite 10 round box mags because they make your rifle look like a Vulcan glued mag when installed.

And oh yeah... A2 builds rule ! I enjoy my A2 build more than my M4 no matter how much more cool goodies I throw on my M4.

Silk that looks killer. Nice background too. I wanted to do that with one of my lowers... I ended up getting a Hesse .308 lower afterwards so I'm going to do that to it.

It's funny though, the .308 lowers never look as good as that Varminter upper from Model 1.

Here's a crappy picture of my Model 1 XM177 A3 upper on my Stag.

Can't complain with my upper, it shoots nice though. I'll order from them (M1S) again.

Last time I hit the range I was doing 3 shot groups that could fit in a quarter with Radway green ammo at 100 yards. I don't have the shoot n' c target. But I'll try and recreate it next time I hit the range. I'm not a very good shot, I flinch so I have to really keep the rifle steady, but the upper is a tack driver.

Except for the flinching part I can probably shoot quarter size or less groups all day. The bbl cools off really fast (well, faster than my non-fluted bbl) but yeah... it's a great upper.

If you look at it closely (like really close) the upper is just a tiny bit lighter than the Ameetec lower. But the upper pretty much matches the Ameetec shade of black.

* the image that I posted was lightened up in Photoshop, it doesn't do it justice.

Thanks for the complement, its a CMMG lower with a RRA 2-stage. On top is a JT Distributing Match-15 1:8 upper. RRA Mount with a Mueller Tactical 4-16x50. Everthing else blkA4alb got listed right.

She's 14.7 pound loaded and spits out groups as tight as the ammunition's accuracy tolerances. At 100 yds, 10 rounds of Radway green usually go into a 2-3 inch circle. I just tried some black hills 77gr, with most 10 round groups just under an inch.

I had the opportunity to shoot it out to 314 yds at a 7 inch square gong. Aside from the first three misses adjusting the windage and elevation out from the 100yd zero, I was able to put 50 rounds on target consecutively with no misses using the Radway surplus.
