While this is true, dedicated .22 lr ARs are still a gray area until confirmed GTG under the new law. A M&P 15-22 is not a gray area because its receiver cannot be used with a centerfire upper.

That is not how criminal law works.

It's not a grey area at all, it's not a centerfire.

So riddle me this. My dedicated 22 AR uses a standard cmmg lower. Will I be able to sell and transfer it after January 1st if law goes through?

Also raises a question about buying lowers after January. Can you buy standard ar lowers to build a 22?

If it is not a semi-auto center fire rifle with a detachable magazine it is not subject to SB374 should it pass. So, it does not apply to any .22 of any kind, nor does it apply to stripped lowers, which could be built into .223/.308/.300blk rifles as long as they are either single pull or have a fixed magazine.

According to how SB374 is interpenetrated now .22 lr AR15s that use a standard AR15 lower receiver will be legal. I know, I get that.

Being that the lower receiver can of course accept a centerfire upper, I think there could be some issues. We'll see...

The law only states that which is illegal, not what is legal. If it is not specifically set out as prohibited then there's no violation of said law (as far as I understand the law).
