Default mka akdal 1919

http://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/ar-1...kdal-mka-1919/

I am considering getting this gun with my tax return. Does anyone have any experiance with it? It looks like a nice one to have with the ar 15 style. The only thing I would have to do it to make it legal is have a b.b. right?

i have absolutley no experience with that shotgun so i cant tell you how it handles but yes, it does need a BB to be legal in CA.

There's videos on the site you posted...also some on the Firebird Precision site that is noted in that story.

You should change the title of this thread to MKA Akdal 1919. A few members here have some.

Default Adkal MKA 1919

I have one of these and it's fun to shoot. With the 10 rnd mags, there can be nosedive jams, especially with 7 or more in the mag. I'm ordering an aftermarket replacement for the feeding ramp to try to fix that. Gunsumer Reports did an 8 part review with a lot of info. Check out the comments section too.

I have one that's fun to shoot. I have a couple of 10 rounders that I haven't tried yet, but it ran flawlessly with the 5 round mags.

There are extensive posting about this shotgun on the Brian Enos forums.
Multi-Gun Sections, Shotgun sub forum. Also Firebird Precision has postings on this on Enos. Firebird has done alot of work on this shotgun getting it to run for 3 Gun Competition in the Open Class.

I like the light weight and balance. The kick back is light, unfortunately i had a few bad jams before i sent mine back for warranty work. RAAC is sending me a new 2 generation and fully upgraded new model for free. The return was easy and the new unit is being shipped this week. I can follow up here later. The customer service was good. When mine had several bad jams, I dismantled and found some polymer receiver marks that I was very unhappy with. Not metal. Something to think about.

UPDATE: They shipped a stage two replacement and totally screwed up the packing, it got damaged: the charging handle was crammed into something hard UPS cross country ground delivery and was so bent by the time i got it it jammed on the first pull rearward and scrapped the lower charging handle groove. Feed up i sent a nasty gram email and once i talked to the owner, he said he was offended. I think it must have been something i said about sending a monkey into outer space and maybe you could train a monkey how to package a gun fur shipment. still waiting for a care free day at the range with that new MKA 4 months later. sent #2. back waiting on #3.

It's not for the faint of heart

But if you are a competent gun smith and are willing to chop up the gun, it's pretty cool :-)

I got one a ways back ...Dont believe all the drama alot of people say about this sg..If you break it in right you willl not have any issues with it ..I have 4 10 rounds mags and shot bird/buck/slug and only had FTF and FTE on the 1st mag when the sg was bnib. I love it but dont love how it likes to eat money. Ive changed out the butt stock so I can fit it in my rifle bag. Several 3 gunners say its superior to the saiga. Ive never owned or built a saiga but While I was in Iraq I did carry a benelli m4 which I loved but I think I would have been happy with a MKA, However due to the design flaws I wouldnt use it as a main weapon for combat. The MKA is based of a remington 1100 internals. It is NOT a quick field strip sg. Takes a few tools more depending on setup for take downs. The sights SUCK from factory is also another flaw. They are synthetic polymers as most of the gun is. The sights will need re adjusting often since they are just attached to the barrel. I have hit foot round steel plates at 100 yards with these sights but changing them is nice. Also to change the pistol grip and buttstock you need to cut it off the lower receiver . I did mine with a hack saw and it came out nice. The pistol grip is kinda big from my hand but I have yet to change it out. One other thing I hate about it is the safe switch since it is in a synthetic polymer hull becomes wore out and loose .you can tighten it but it will go loose again . However I love it but the people at the range next to me hate it sine it launches the shells far and hits more people to my right. Also the BB they have for it sucks and I hope someone makes a new style for it
