Enjoy your new rifle. I own the Free Float version of the Saint. Great rifle. I would guess it's the one you bought as that is the typical, non-sale, local price. Turners had it for $999 in one of their ads at one point but ran out quick. I had a deposit with a rain check for months and they never got it back in stock. I ended up buying from Martin B Redding for 998 on sale but I had to leave work and drive an hour in traffic to buy it. No one else who had them in stock would touch that price. Everyone wanted 1100.

So there you go. You got a nice rifle for what they sell for new. All the ads posted are for different Cal legal variants of the rifle or out of state, non-compliant versions of it. Again, enjoy your new rifle and don't worry about it.

Enjoy and have fun... rifle prices got nothing compared to ammunition costs.

OP, what is the version that you bought? Even if you paid a little extra, don't take it to heart and enjoy your new rifle. Make it up by finding a lot of ammo on sale.
There are several versions. Does yours have a fixed front or either pop up sight or flat top hand rail? The fixed sight version might be a couple hundred bucks cheaper than the flat top.

Like others said, we all "overpay" for ARs in California..some just more than others. My first off the shelf AR was also between a M&P15 and the Saint. Went with M&P15 and it was a reliable economy class AR. Considering the anti2A secret deal Springfield Armory tried to pull off a few years ago, I was glad I didn't give them my $.

Haha. I feel your pain OP. I bought after Sandy Hook. I will never get back my "investment". No "regerts" for me. I paid a lot more than you did. The cost of feeding will be more than you paid for the rifle.

The people who brag online about their astute market savvy and uncanny ability to find the best prices on everything are compensating for their real life tendency to get fleeced mercilessly every time they open their wallet.

I bought the free float one at Turner's couple months ago on sale for 900 but it was the last one they had.. not just at the store but in company stock.

The fixed float had just been on sale for 800.

Not too bad if you got the free float version.

I always check out prices on grabagun. If I get close to that in a brick store it's a good price...

Fixed float for 850: https://grabagun.com/springfield-108.html

Free float is usually 100+ more.

Just shoot it and enjoy!

I've never heard of the term "fixed float" to describe a non free float, drop-in handguard setup. Sounds marketingish.

You.should of built your first AR, there isn't much to it and you learn as you build.

You bought what you wanted and you can't go wrong with anything Springfield Armory.
Enjoy your new gun.

Being happy with your purchase?.......PRICELESS.

Good call on going with the Springer vs. the S&W.

People still buy ARs in Comifor.....nevermind.

Enjoy your rifle. That's all that matters. Don't try to turn gun shopping into car shopping! You'll wind up with the same aggravation!

Use the Turners ad to call your credit card company and get a price match. Some credit cards have that feature and will refund you the difference.

Nope. Good gun, ok price, plus it's yours, new and fully warrantied.

Like others have said, maybe you could have waited and paid $900, but its not like they sell elsewhere for like $400-500.00

my friend just got a saint as well, its the free floated version and he paid $1080 so it sounds right around the same ballpark and the end of the day everyone pays what they feel its worth, if you're happy with the purchase and you enjoy it who cares.

Did we ever hear which version the OP bought? If so, I missed it.
