List of places for medical and first aid stuff
Anyone know of any good sites for first aid medical stuff?
The few i know are lapolicegear, amazon, dark angel medical and a few others. As most people like to build their own kit what are people putting in theirs? Shears, gauze, quikclot are usually easy to find, how about Nasal Airway, gloves, Compressed Gauze, tourniquet? List of places http://www.chinookmed.com/ Wide range of kits from IFAK to large groups, individual items as well decent shipping rates http://www.rescue-essentials.com/ http://www.shopmedvet.com/ http://www.adventuremedicalkits.com/ Good kits for home, camping, car https://www.tacmedsolutions.com/store/index.php http://shop.thetacticalmedic.com/main.sc http://www.galls.com/medical-supplies

Zombie survival has a dedicated medical section with nurses and doctors.
Forget the actual name but search first aid and zombies.. here it is! http://www.zombiehunters.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=43 O your looking for supplies, the above is still good and has answers to your questions but i personally use Amazon a lot for this stuff.

I have been looking to re-supply the "single use" packets of things like... Tylenol, alchohol wipes, burn ointment, betadine wipes, etc. Most off the shelf medic kits are stocked with this kind of stuff, but replacements are hard to find. I have found some things at Rite aid & Wallgreens, but it's hit or miss

I need to resupply my bag. I went to mexico for a fishing trip and came upon a horrific accident and I only had so much. thank god I had quickclot I to use it on a lady that had a large laceration to her left cheek and if not for that she would have bled out. this accident was in the middle of no where.

I second chinook med and rescue essentials.
Here are a couple more suppliers: https://www.tacmedsolutions.com/store/index.php http://shop.thetacticalmedic.com/main.sc For training classes and practice I buy disposables like rolled gauze, "ace" wraps, and tape from local dollar stores. Harbor freight has good deals on nitrile gloves and shears. Quote:
Lots of gloves LED headlamp and spare batteries Tourniquets (One CAT or SOFT and one or more cheaper TK4 or SWATT) Compression dressings (Oales, H bandage, or Israeli) Halo chest seals Compact CPR face mask Aspirin (for heart attack) Lots of rolled fluff gauze (kerlix) 6x9 and 4x4 gauze pads Athletic or duct tape Several triangular bandages w/safety pins Hemostatic gauze (Quikclot or Celox) "Ace" bandages or cohesive wraps Heat sheet space blanket Cheap poncho Medical shears Hand sanitizer I have a separate "boo-boo" kit in a ziplock bag with bandaids, neosporin, burn gel, tweezers, ibuprofen, tylenol, immodium, etc. All of this fits neatly in a soft sided six-pack sized travel cooler if you don't want to blow your medical budget on expensive dedicated medical bags. This little $15 bag from Bass pro works also works well if you can live with the logo: http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shop...product/90054/ |

Just more flexibility/uses. They do everything an Israeli will do, but the pad is z-packed and includes an occlusive layer, so you can do more with the same bandage/treat multiple injuries (in and outs, etc.)
This video explains it pretty well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbKDNuLB54A |

SOS in Van Nuys. Small store..quite a bit of stuff though. I like that they have a lot of first aid stuff in open quantities so you can buy as little as you want instead of having to buy in bulk. But you can do either there too. Makes it easier when replacing the small inventory items in your kit. My .02

Placed my order from Chinook, thanks guys for the input. I know many will later ask about stuff like this. I sent them an email to add those Olaes and they took care of it quick and sent it out yesterday.

Practical Trauma
I've ordered a couple of kits from a company called Practical Trauma. The kit's quality is pretty good and the content is pretty comprehensive. No kit is perfect. They can always use supplemental items.
They also have re-fill kits for when the supplies become stale or are depleted. http://www.practicaltrauma.com/index.shtml |
