Default Watched Kim Rhode Today.

I went to Oak Tree to shoot with the Wednesday friends and saw Kim Rhode arrive. I watched her and her friend for around 1 hour on Skeet #3 and was very humbled. Not only do I need to learn how to low hold, but I need to shoot at #3 skeet field so I can shoot the faster birds.

Very nice person BTW.

So I figured 24 birds every 5 minutes since they would shoot doubles every other time each. I believe they brought 2 flats EACH. Which means in 2 hours they shot about 500 shells EACH! They took some breaks so it was closer to 3.5 hours, but for each of them shooting 500 shells per session PER DAY! I need more money for more ammo. They achieved this as they would shoot 24 birds a piece standing at one station. Then they would move to the next.

Anyone heard updates on Rhode's lawsuit against CA DOJ on the ammo law requiring delivery to and transfer from an FFL?

The honor she brought to our country, she should NEVER have to pay for ammo in her lifetime. Or the range fees for that matter.

Chute, I'd buy her lunch as well.

International Skeet----Low gun mount, 0-3 sec random delay on target launch, doubles at every station, gun can not move to mount until the target is launched.....clays launched at 60+ MPH

I don't think there is an International skeet field in the Bay Area since Pacific R&G closed down. Fun to shoot International...talk about throwing you off your game, that will do it quite nicely

I think I read an article where she averages something like 1,000 rounds a day.

In this interview, she says she shoots between 500 ~ 1000 every day she's home.

I agree that it's silly to charge more. However I am willing to pay up to get used to shooting those birds now and then. I am really impressed with her speed especially since he starts from low hold.

Have you tried moving your hold points out yet?
The speed of those targets will teach you very quickly that you need to. You won't catch them to shoot swing-through.

BTW does it matter with Sansei if you low hold? Or is there some regulation that doesn't allow it?

Yes in fact today I did. I shot this morning and just got home from shooting tonight. I am feeling better about it. Still not 100% confident, but will continue to use the new hold points.

Question. The ones that affected me the most were 2 and 6. Did you notice any other stations at Sansei that were way off? I am trying a 1/3 out basically on every station except 1,7, and 8 of course.

No rule against it, shoot low gun if you want to. But remember, it is a different move to the target.

Good deal, you'll get used to it.
Move slow, shoot fast!!!
Next time you go to a clinic, ask Richard about that one

On high 2 and low 6, I use an intercept method. But I old out a bit farther, for me it makes for a more controlled move.
The biggest issue I saw with you was your hold points at 1 ~ 7, to close to the house. In general you were hitting them, but inconsistently.

I used to shoot to rounds on field one, all doubles. Then a regular game of skeet on field three, doubles on report. My member price was $6 at that time. I just had to ask them to turn on the power. In fact Wed nights there was a line for field three. My hold point was 1/3 out on field one, and 1/2 out on field three. Station 8- yeah right.

Is Kim using the flash/poweder targets?

Meaning like the pink dust, no. However her father says they are international targets so maybe different dimensions from what we shoot but I saw black dust like the normal ones.

To clarify, in International Skeet, the low hold is required.

You can shoot the same way on the regular skeet field on a bit slower birds. If they're hand pulled you can even implement the variable delay from "pull".

I shoot low gun as my real interest is field shooting. Don't get to pre-mount in the field. I figure calling "pull" is "cheating" enough. Feeder shoots low gun as well. He's just a little better at it.

Station 1: H_Single, H-L_Double
Station 2: H_Single, H-L_Double
Station 3: H_Single, H-L_Double
Station 4: H_Single, L_Single, H-L_Double, L-H_Double
Station 5: L_Single, L-H_Double

Station 6: L_Single, L-H_Double
Station 7: L-H_Double
Station 8: H_Single, L_Single
