Default My new super long range toy

Got my M82a1 .416 in finally, found a sick deal for a new one on gunbroker for 7500 OTD with 340 rounds of ammo! turns out the guy was cool and threw in a bullet button to make it CA compliant! then bought a new Nightforce scope 8-32x56 for 1700 from the same guy, went with the NP-R2 MOA reticule kinda differert, but I really don't use milradian. went looking around and found a Bors set up for 995 from another retailer on gunbroker.com. got some ultra high barrett rings for 200. So for 10400 otd got a new package that would of retailed for way more! I can't wait until I sight it in Sunday early early in the morning before the game... out of all weekends! LOL I've got the scope zeroed by eye balling it through the barrel with the lower off and dialling a close setting to the scope, should get me close without having to blow to much wasted ammo trying to sight it in! I've been waiting and can't wait!

hahahaha you guys crack me up, it was my birthday and my is super cool now that I stopped roadracing motorcycles, she's just glad shooting is way more safer! lol but I went overboard I really don't need this thing, but it sure as hell is gonna be fun trying to hit a target a mile away (I hope lol), I figured its like racing... it takes a lot of tires to get good, I presume its gonna take a lot of rounds to get it right.

oh and I only had to sell half my liver for the rifle, the kidney went to pay for this! LMAO Hey it was my birthday last week!

she's being resprayed in desert sand with a gun ring mount on it so if I take it out of state I could mount some cool **** on there. (I pick her up Tuesday and putting a nice stereo system with some other BS) I wanted this so I can take it camping, shoot out in the sticks without getting stuck like the last 12 times, oh and if shtf I wont have to worry too much!

For about two bucks a pull on the trigger I don't blame you for the precision eye ball bore sight job.

Nice rifle BTW.

I cannot imagine how much it hurts your shoulder to shoot this.

But for accuracy in the 1 to 1 1/2 mile range it cannot be beat.

You're gonna have lotsa fun....

PM me if you ever head out to Angeles Range and we can set off some car alarms....

$2/rnd for .416 would be considered dirt cheap. Even .50 BMG can run about $4 in components alone (using AMAX) to about $7 for factory loaded stuff.

While not particularly accurate, those are incredibly fun to shoot, especially out at BLM land where you can walk them into targets at a mile. Just get big steel targets.

- Moving Chicane,

Wish I was there this past Thursday, sadly it's been almost 3 mos since I went shooting at ASR (I attempted to go during the week between xmas and new year but it was way overcrowded). I need some medicine for this itch....

+1^ - Yup, the M82 was originally used against ordinance and not personnel.

I sure would hate to be anywhere on the line when you shoot that thing.

Probably gives a whole new meaning to muzzle blast.

just got a good deal on it, and wanted my kid to understand how difficult it is to shoot a big rifle... not like his video game! lol no honestly just wanted something that I got a really smokin' deal on and I can always get what I paid for it. The other thing was that damn ultimate weapons show. lol No just kidding I heard a bunch of good stuff about the round, the rifle, and the BORS set up and just wanted to experiment with it too. my 308 are only good for so much. However after shooting it today and zeroing it at 100 yards as Bors says to do I bottomed out my adjustment and is shooting exactly 3 MOA off so I basically have to hold under 3 MOA on my scope... any advise on what you would do? I was thinking zeroing it at 200 yards... also had a blast, I caused an avalanche on the hillside behind my targets today, I took my FFL guy and had him blast 20 rounds (always helps to get an FFL on yer' side)lol Actually it is overkill for me but you know what screw it, I'm gonna have fun with her. Gotta give Ronnie Barrett props and his son, they do good work and glad I can still have something like this rifle thanks to them!

As expensive as that ammo is I can't believe you are shooting it at anything less then 1000!

Here is the bastard after it got redone (I say this because it was sprayed OD 3 weeks before I bought it). Ring mount, heater, new spare, canvas tops cab and bed, bridge plate is gonna have my race number (34), and the full size rear bed (the frame had to be lengthened 3 inches so its just right! Now I can go any f#$king where and shoot! I pick it up tomorrow after rear canvas top and P brake cable get replace, if you guys see a truck similar about 20 miles inland of hodge road or something its probably me!
