Default CA Mag Release Questions

So I'm looking to either go featureless or get a mag release installed to avoid having to register my AR.

I see a few options like the JT CA Compliant AR Mod and the Patriot Mag Release.. If I install either of these products, do I need to do anything else to my AR, to make sure I'm compliant?

JT Says I can remove the bullet button and just put a regular button for the release... Would it make more sense to keep the BB in place?

I'm worried going this route, even if compliant by the letter of the law, would attract scrutiny or other unwanted attention from LEO. I do most of my shooting out in open BLM and I'd had to get into major trouble because I went this route then later get into trouble as a result.

Thoughts? Please be easy, I am a newer member

No BB at all as I understand it, even if just a supplement.

Franklin DFM mag. With them and new mag locks a standard mag release assembly is ok.
