Default Ruger MKII 6-7/8" Bull Barrel

Had this gun for over 5 years now. Still shoots amazing. Targets are 7 yards, standing off-hand. I shoot the outer targets for warm-up and "try" for the 5th, center target.

I see a lot of Mark III's on here, but the grips on the MKII are simply the best I've ever handled. Plus I think it just has that "classic" aesthetic.

Default Smith and Wesson Model 41

Here is my Smith and Wesson Model 41….all cleaned up after a weekend match.

Over twenty years old and it will still cut clover leafs at twenty-five yards all day long. I has great sights and a superb trigger, although it is very ammo sensitive (its current favorites are CCI Pistol Match and Eley Tenex).

My new addition: Beretta U22 Neos 6".

Cheaper ammo...can't wait to take her out to the range and shoot the .22lr rounds.

~$18 @ Walmart for 550 hollow point rounds. Anyone know where to get this on-line for cheaper?

^is that a phoenix? did you get the target kit? i'm tempted to get one of these, since i don't have a 22 to plink all day with. but i'm leaning more towards a s&w 22a

yea its the phoenix hp22a, got it on sale at Turners and ordered 6mags for it, its just the standard short barrel version, although the target would probably be more accurate i kinda like the look of the short bbl better so far its been awesome, almost 1K rounds thru it

While I do have quite a few .22 pistols I have to say I don't see the desire in ungainly hardware on top of them. I'm sure it works for the shooter but IMO it's just plain fugly.

I figure if I can't be marginally accurate with my .22 pistols as is I'd switch platforms.

If it were silver, would it be nicer

I am all for scoping .22's now after doing it. We were having a ball plinking at 200 yards and making gong shots more often than not just the other day. Huge gain IMO over iron sights for things like bullseye shooting and certain styles of shooting.

JanG, give me a report on that if you would as far as consistency, what ammo you have any malfunctions with, what it likes and doesn't. I'm thinking about getting one of those for my wife so we can go shoot our .22lr's together. I have a "Competition" model Ruger MKIII and its too heavy for her to shoot well. I want to get a 5" fluted barrel and nice grips on the 22A so let me know what you think of it after some rounds go down the tube.
