It's great that AZ wants to help and is engaged throughout the process. Some other states might of just thrown your application in a non-complaiance bin. -178S |

Hope 7/1/11 comes to fruition as reported. My x-country bike trip starts 6-July but I will not be in Nevada until weekend of 23 July.
But I'm covered once I get to Needles for the next 3 weeks! -178S |

Got mine yesterday! 9 days after I mailed the app! And they sent it out on the 16th, so that means they turned it around in 2 days! 2 days! I love AZ.
It's just too bad I can't make use of it on the Vegas/Grand Canyon/Hoover Dam trip that the wife surprised me with on Father's Day... we're coming back on 6/28 Billy |

Just saw this:
LulzSec claims to have hacked Arizona police By Kevin Rawlinson Lulz Security, the notorious group of online activists, has released "sensitive" data it claims to have taken from a US police force, including personal emails, officers' names, phone numbers, addresses and passwords. In what it warned would be the first of many such leaks, the group known as LulzSec posted documents online it said belong to the Arizona Department for Public Safety (DPS) in the early hours of yesterday morning. The group said the hack was a protest against laws allowing Arizona police officers to question anyone they suspect of being an illegal immigrant. In a statement, LulzSec said the documents were classified as "law-enforcement sensitive", "not for public distribution", and "for official use only", adding that they "describe the use of informants to infiltrate various gangs, cartels, motorcycle clubs, Nazi groups, and protest movements". The statement continued: "Every week we plan on releasing more classified documents and embarassing personal details of military and law enforcement." The growing animosity between the group and other so-called "hacktivists" continued with one releasing personal details he said belonged to Sabu, the mysterious figure said to be the head of LulzSec. Do you think our CCW info is safe? |

I have mixed feelings about this. It would be nice, but at the same time, it would have meant the small expense of having a passport photo taken. As reasonable as the price of this CCW is, especially in comparison to CA, I still have a moral problem with having to pay anything to exercise a civil right anywhere in the US.

We are probably not a high priority for this particular group of nutjobs, however I'm sure they have it, and will most likely use it in some form at some time.

Not worried about it. If they wanted your CCW info (name and address), they would just hack your personal machine without much problem. Quote:
The CCW is just for other states that haven't wised up yet. And making the cards and keeping the database online 24/7 for the other states that require that is what costs money |

Quick question, how are you all sending you applications back? I received mine today and there was a small envelope inside that is clearly for the fingerprint cards, even folded the application wont fit. Are you guys just inserting everything in a bigger envelope?

Some people jam it all in the little one but I did what you're suggesting. Put the cards in the small envelope to keep them from bending then put everything in a larger one.

I just folded my app a second time and inserted it into the small envelope. I sent it standard USPS.
