Default Fly Fishing? Anybody fish here in CA?

I posted this in the wrong forum

San Juan River, NM trout fishing pictures

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was in Albuquerque on business and decided to play hooky one day. ABQ is a nice place except for all the hippies, but the drive up to Farmington is incredible.

The San Juan River is world class trout fishing, and even a newbie to fly fishing like me caught a few.

Oh yeah, and Rudy's BBQ is great

Here are the pictures

I used to tie my own flys and gave a try into makeing my own fly pole. I had a 389 bamboo Sage pole, but a "Friend" borrowed it and never returned it. I have not seen him in 10 years now...

The area i fly fish & hunt in is currently engulfed in flames (The Rim Fire) and ill be needing a new spot shortly...

- Ice house res.
To name a few. Hat creek area is by far my favorite place to fly fish.

Going a little further north, try fly fishing for steelhead fishing on the Rogue or quality trout on the Williamson River/Klamath Lake and Wood river... or go to the eastern Sierra's and fish the west or east Walker. If you really want to get away from everyone and are hard core, back pack in from Devil's Postile and fly fish some of the streams and lakes along the John Muir trail.

I do it when I don't have enough failure and frustration in my daily life.

Sometimes its good, other times I break out the spinner and go for dinner.

If I am not working I am fly fishing. It is my passion, I am even a director for a local fly fishing club. I plan to get my drift boat next year and start guiding.

I also toss flies in the Eastern Sierras. My 15yo son has been fishing with me since he was 7. I can still remember many years ago, when my daughter would still fish with me (shes 16 now and its gross) and both my kids spent the entire day hooking little Golden Trout with me.
I typically fish Rock Creek and Bishop Creek but my absolute favorite place to fish is the Tri Basin Divide in Wyoming.
