Default Ameriglo vs. Trijicon HD

I am thinking about changing out my sights and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Ameriglo I dot pros. Was it difficult to transition to the 2 dot format?

I am also thinking of the Ameriglo Spartan Operators, and the Trijicon HD's if I stay with a 3 dot system.

Thoughts anyone? Recommendations based on your experience?

I like the Trijicon HDs with a yellow front sight. No experience with the Ameriglo Spartan Operators

Have the ameriglo Spartan operators on my shield. They are great sights for me. I have not used trijicon hds, but for $90 installed I picked Ameriglow.

I have Ameriglo I-dot Pros (green lumi) on my bedside G34....work great so far at the range, lol.

My carry G26 has Ameriglo Hackathorn (orange/blacked)...also easy to see.

The pricing is definitely favorable, compared to the Trijicons which I've had on some past handguns

I have run them all. I prefer the Spartan Operators over the Trij HD because the Trij have sharp edges, and cost nearly double while offering nothing additional.

Two dot vs 3 dot isn't going to matter much when SHTF - you are going to be focused on that front sight, and any of the sights mentioned have a big ole day glo dot up front. That said I prefer the 3 dot.

Night Fision is worthy of checking out. I did a review HERE , with a lot of pics comparing them to the Trijicon HD's.

I was stuck between the trijicon hd’s and the ameriglo agent sights, in the end went with the ameriglos. I really liked the trijicons but was concerned about people reporting sharp edges that tear holes in shirts. Price was also a big factor as the ameriglo sights were much cheaper. There wasn’t much of a difference to justify throwing the extra cash at the hd’s and both are near identical. I’m happy with my choice.

I installed some night fision sights on my g19. Damn they glow bright. I'm happy with them.

How many here have actually shot them in the dark?

I would take an educated guess and expect not even half the folks who have low light/night have actually shot in the dark.

Yes, yes I have and with mounted light also. My inlwas acreage has afforded me to shoot whatever/whenever I desire.

I just have stock glock/ameriglo . They work well enough. I dont know anything better or have used anything else. I dont shoot in the dark more then 3 or so times.

I am in the same boat deciding which one to get for a glock 19: trijicon hd, ameriglo agent, bold, or spartan. I have trijicon hd on another carry gun but found it slow to get a good sight alignment on a dark target against a dark background. Should I get the rear tritium sight with white rings instead? Thanks!

I have both. The Ameriglo was on my 17 (now sold) and I have the HD on my 43. I’m actually planning to replace the Glock sights on my 19. When I do I will be going with the XR. I see no additional benefits between the Ameriglo and HD when the latter cost more. So, Ameriglo or XR. No HD.
