Default does your Ruger PCC "click"out of battery?

Try this experiment:
1: unload, no mag needed
2: put a chamber flag into the pcc
3: drop the bolt
4: pull the trigger

Mine sounds like it drops the striker.

PCC trigger is similar to 10/22. You can drop the hammer with the bolt partially forward. They is no "striker"..

Honestly I'm a bit confused as was said above there is no striker. I mean if I drop the mag, and send the bolt home, yeah it will go "click" when I pull the trigger. I dont see that as a problem, am I missing something here?

In this experiment there is a chamber flag in the chamber preventing the bolt from going home.

OP probably hears the hammer hitting the bottom of the bolt when it is tripped off the sear.

Ruger PCC and 10/22 are hammer fired guns. When people say "striker", I interpreted that to mean fire control mechanism in bolt action rifles and Glock-type polymer pistols

AH... Master spoke, and Student was enlightened.

It sounded, to me, like the damn thing could be fired with the bolt almost a half inch out of battery... since I'm left handed, that would be very bad. :-)

I'll take a closer look at the internal gubbins, and verify that the bolt isn't hitting anything dangerous.

How would the hammer reach the firing pin with the bottom of the bolt in the way?
It won't FIRE that way.

I guess I see what the OP is saying, but I'm lefty as well, just never had this concern nor even thought about. Glad you got it cleared up! But question to the OP as a lefty how do like the rifle? Some lefties have been concerned about gas and or brass to the face. Myself I only see and smell the smoke after rapid fire with my 33 rd glock happy sticks, which a sore throat from that is pretty sweet imho!

It's no worse than any other as far as smoke or smell. In fact, my 22 with aguila ammo is much worse.

The gun is cool... Has a strange twist in the recoil, but no complaints.

Twist? Never noticed that, I'll pay better attention to that next time out. Glad a fellow lefty likes it, I dont own an AR but want one, if the ejection of casings is anything like the PCC 9, I'll be fine, righties dont know easy they have it! Haha!

it's very strange... AR's kick almost straight back. my 30-06 kicks back hard, and the muzzle rises. My 22's don't kick at all.

The PCC 9 "shudders" a little, almost like an air rifle, from the heavy bolt moving, but the muzzle moves left, and I swear I feel it twist CCW as viewed from the rear.

Most likely, i just need to learn how to work with it... after learning to hold a rifle like a lover, this one wants to be held like a hate-f*ck, i guess...
