Default Browning Auto-5 Temporary Repair

I picked up a 1929 browning auto-5 recently and found that the return spring tube that comes out of the receiver tang into the stock was broke. This one was a Japanese Auto-5 part that was brazed into position by some previous owner and finally broke, which was probably the reason it was sold to me in the first place.

The gunshop I bought it from isn't going to be able to take it in for free repairs until late this year, but I'd like to at least put a few rounds in sooner than that, if I can.

I know something like JB weld probably isn't as strong as brazing, but do you think I could JB weld the tube back into place as a temporary fix? Or would the thing break again after the first shot?
