I have the Benchmite original in auto and manual. They were made in the USA. Yours is the Benchmite II. They are great little knives and the auto opens with a strong snap. I have never seen a conversion kit for them. I have bought a couple of Chinese knockoffs of the auto. They are OK for what they are.

The difference between the Benchmite and Benchmite II is country of manufacture, blade steel and the rear scale. The original Benchmites rear scale is not solid like yours. It has decorative cutouts.
