Original stock for Nazi k98?
My uncle's got an old k98 with Nazi proof marks that he acquired some time in the 80s. Recently he was telling me that when he got it, the stock was rotten, so he scrapped it and had a woodworking friend make a new one, and that is the stock that is on the rifle to this day. I was thinking for Christmas maybe find him a wartime stock... Or at least a German issue. Any leads?

If you want to take it one step further, find a "correct" stock for it. Earlier K98's had flat butt plates, which later evolved into cupped buttplates. Then you have late war "Kriegsmodell" stocks which have no stock disk and are correct for late 44/45 receivers.
Experts please correct me if I am wrong on any of the above.. |

Here you go. us1945@hotmail.com. Send Tommy your receiver markings. He will send detailed photos of a few stocks to choose from. Some have matching #'s on the stock and metal. $300. Best buy in town.
