What to Eat Around Field Time?
My buddy and I recently became members at Field Time so we'll be going there a lot more now. I want to ask you what is there to each around there, preferably no more than 10 min drive because some of us go north and some go south after dinner. We'll eat anything delicious and opens late.
EDIT: It's for dinner and we usually finish about 8-8:30 so if the place open until at least 10 that would be good. |

Jun's sushi, Katella and Knott - Awesome hole in the wall all you can eat sushi bar, $18 or so for lunch, $25 or so for dinner. If Kevin, the tall Korean sushi chef is at the bar, drop some sake bombs with him and he'll hook you up. $8 for a large Asahi and Large Sake, get's you about 4-5 sake bombs.

OK, trust the fat man here. Portillo's in Buena Park on La Palma. Just a few miles away down Beach Blvd. (both Field Time and Portillo's are just off of Beach). This is a Chicago staple that was exported to SoCal a few years back - us Midwesterners and Chicago-area fanatics were beyond ecstatic when we learned that it would be the first-ever location to be opened outside of Chicago.
The Italian beef is to die for, and the hot dogs and Italian sausage are great, too. They are open until 10:30 weekdays and 11:00 weekends. They do serve beer!

I assume you're referring to FT3 Tactical?
If you like Thai food, Thai Nakorn is really good. Right on the corner of Beach & Chapman. The chicken curry and the fried fish with mango salsa are both excellent! And they are open till 10pm.

My buddy and I usually just hit up Curry House in Cypress. Primary reason is they're really chill about letting us in even though they closed 5 minutes before we showed up (we usually shoot late).

I've hit Fuddruckers a few times after leaving FT3. It's not too far, just down Beach at the 91. Usually get a decent burger, fries and a beer for 12 bucks. All the other suggestions are good as well. As mentioned, many Vietnamese places close by. I usually hit the ones on Bolsa near Brookhurst. They hand me the menus with the pictures.

there's a decent Mexican place right around the corner from FT3 (on east side of Beach) - I forget the name, but you can't miss it.
There's an even better Mexican place a little farther - on south side of Garden Grove Bl (east of Beach - near Newland, which is before Magnolia)... Casa De Soto: http://www.casadesoto.com/ if you go on weekend, get the Carnitas plate - it's awesome! There are a ton of Koren BBQ places on Garden Grove Bl between Beach and Magnolia... I'm not familiar with them all so can't recommend the best one... |

Alright we just tried Portillo's last night and it was pretty good. I love those grilled onions. Park Ave is indeed too pricey. We'll be trying some more places you guys listed. Thanks you all!

The Golden Steer on Beach and Katella. Old school joint that has been there for years. Good food, good prices. We actually found Field Time because we were eating there with the in-laws.
